I wholeheartedly support the idea of giving Morel every chance
to figure out 3B. You do have to ask how long you can ride it
out if it's like this, though.

Morel’s error was costly, but our pitcher got a ground ball
right after it. Unfortunately, he then walked the 8 and 9
hitters in front of Semien.
That can’t happen.

The Cubs defense has been horrible in the first three games.
Not just Morel, but Gold Glovers Swanson, Hoerner and Bellinger.
Making ANY baseball decision based upon 3 games might be rather
short sighted.

I know he was battling control issues, but Wicks' stuff was
dynamite yesterday. Perhaps it was just an outing where he was
able to spin the ball a little better, but if this is in fact
real improvement, he's trending as a #3 more than a #4/5.
- 19 swing and miss, 11(!) on 4 seamer
- 4 seamer was faster, moved more, and came from a lower release
angle
- Perhaps related to arm angle, sweeper had 2x the movement

Question: if some of these guys with big beards were to wax them
so they stood out at a 90 degree angle and the pitch hits the
beard. Does he get his base.? Is so, wouldn't more guys grow a
huge beard?
