Its not that I want any Cub to fail.
I just expect him to but with that contract being so reasonable
Im not so sure I think he will if he can stay healthy.

19 swing-and-misses for Imanaga in these 70 pitches, according
       to AZ Phil.
       That is pretty special.

The Angels announcer on this broadcast is terrible. He keeps
calling Canario "Can-AR-o". And now he's confused Keegan
Thompson with Matthew Thompson, the guy we got from the White
       Sox for Bailey Horn.

Cubs sweep two 1-run games. Lots of HR's between the two, by
starting players. 2 Gomes, 2 Suzuki, 1 each for Morel and
Bellinger. Fun. Alzolay and Merryweather 5K between them in
their two perfect innings to close the KC win.
Jeff, did you watch much of the Angels game? How did Keegan
look stuff-wise and velocity-wise? How about Ben Brown? 4
innings with only 1 walk, that's a fun box-score for us to see.

I thought Chip was doing Cardinal games this year.

Keegan looked ordinary. I think he's going down. Also, I think
he's at risk if they need a 40-man spot.
Brown was great. He was getting the high strike called, which
       helped.
Cam Sanders is my new fetish. Overwhelming stuff. Please learn
       how to throw strikes.

It is hard to see how Thompson could make the 26 man roster on
opening day. The pitching staff is just too full.
Starters - Steele, Imanaga, Hendricks, Wicks and one of the
       three below
Long relief/Piggyback - Asaad, Wesneski, Smiley,
       Closer - Alzolay
Set up - Neris, Merryweather, Leiter
       Misc. - Almonte, Cuas
In addition, he would have to beat out Little and Palencia to
       make the squad.
I don't see how any of the NRI pitchers can make the opening day
team. I wouldn't be surprised to see a trade that opens up a 26
man and perhaps a 40 man squad spot. If Escobar or Lovelady
were to do so, Cuas would probably go down and Kilian to the 60
       IL.

Nice that thus far, none of the intended relievers seem to be
scary. Last year, Keegan and Hughes were intended to be primary
guys, and they were both in big trouble by this point last year.
I can recall an earlier year where Latroy Hawkins came to camp
having lost his fastball. Most of the relievers seem to be
healthy and looking fine. I'm very optimistic about the pen.

I think Brown could factor into the big league roster sooner
rather than later, though he's obviously a wild card. His hard
curve in a unicorn of a pitch.
