Imanaga gave up another HR. Also K'd 5 in 3 innings. It is to
be expected that there will be a period of adjustment for him
(to the MLB strike zone among other things). I have high hopes
that he is going to prove to be an excellent acquisition.

Counsell should be happy, that's what he said he was rooting
for.
Counsell had 18.8 dWAR in his career and played almost 400 games
at 3B, so I trust his judgment on whether this can work.

Man, Cooper is a big, big guy and hits big home runs. He’s
always hit lefties pretty hard - you have to wonder whether he
has the inside track over Wisdom for that bench/DH role,
especially if the Cubs have decided Wisdom is just unplayable at
3B.

He thew out a guy from foul territory just a few days ago…
looked like enough arm strength to me?? I don’t remember who the
batter was… maybe he was just really slow?

That throw bounced just past the mound, looked like.

Madrigal doesn’t make that play, though, and a bounce just past
the mound may be about release point rather than poor arm
strength.
AZPhil obviously is an infinitely better judge of these things
than me, but I’m still surprised.
