       I was thinking about this:
The Bears will make Caleb Williams the No. 1 overall pick in the
2024 NFL draft tonight. The Bears also have the No. 9 pick, and
Williams knows who he hopes the Bears will take.
Asked today what he’d like to see the Bears do with their other
pick, Williams said his first choice would be Penn State
offensive tackle Olu Fashanu, and after that he’d love to see a
       wide receiver.
“I’d probably go Olu Fashanu because I know he’d put his life on
the line for me, protecting me,” Williams said. “Then I’d go one
of the top three wide receivers.”
Fashanu and Williams were teammates at Gonzaga College High
School in Washington, D.C., so it’s unsurprising that Williams
wants to be teammates with Fashanu again. It would be a surprise
if Fashanu goes as high as No. 9 overall, but he is a likely
first-round draft pick. Williams is vouching for him as an
offensive tackle any team would be glad to have.

I’ve seen two new mocks this morning that have JC Latham to the
       Chargers at 5.
That increases the likelihood of Odunze being there at 9, I
       would think.

Harbaugh wants to pound the ball, and Latham is just the kind of
       roadgrader he likes.
Still taking the ball out of Herbert's hands sounds rediculous,
       and they have no receivers.
I suspect at least one trade back for them and getting multiple
       Michigan players.
A trade back likely means to someone looking at a quarterback.

If MHJR fell to 5, who would be interested in moving up from 9
to 5 to grab him? What would it cost?
Latham will definitely still be there at 9, and a few dollars
       cheaper…

MHJR or Alt are the two guys I would consider moving up for.
Not sure on the cost though.

Williams is not winning points with his existing LT Braxton
Jones with those comments. Fashanu was a top 10 pick a few
weeks ago but now might be had with a trade down. Of course you
got to find that dance partner first.
I have accepted taking Alt with 9 if he's there, but I'm still a
Braxton Jones advocate. I still think Williams will make the
O-line look better than they were last year.
I like Dallas Turner or Odunze at 9. But I think Poles has
       trading down in his DNA.

       Twitter talk…
Bears are open for business at #9
       Also…
49ers are looking to move up, shopping Aiyuk/Deebo, and have
talked with several teams, including one in the top 10…

NFLN or ESPN coverage of the draft?
I have a meeting at 7pm but should be home by 8:30pm which
should give me plenty of time to see the #9 pick or the trade
       down if Odunze/Turner/Alt are gone.
Tomorrow would be more interesting if the Bears have more than
       one pick the whole day.

Yes he seems to be suffering from "tradedown" disease

Infinitely better than the dreaded "tradeup" disease.
