I want Rome, Alt or Murphy II in a trade down. Strong preference
for Alt, with Rome coming in at 2nd.

I'll be kind of surprised if they take Murphy. He just doesn't
seem to fit the model DT that they want.

You mean he doesn't fit the model DT that the Bears have had
recently. Namely a 3 technique that can't apply consistent
pressure to the QB.
Murphy would be the best 3 technique drafted since Tommie Harris
in 2004. We have bigger needs at end, but I'd be fine with
Murphy after a trade down but not at 9.

Sure, if you can find those guys in the draft, great, but
sometimes you have to settle for shorter guys. They just gave a
new contract to Billings and he's the same height as Murphy.
Having said that I don't think the Bears will target Murphy in
R1. Maybe his teammate at UT in R3, Sweat. He'd be fun to
watch.

I don't disagree here at all, that's why I'd prefer him in a
trade down scenario. He's got a really great motor and i think
he can be a difference maker.
My strong preference is a hope that either Alt or Rome fall to
us, and no trade down. I'd be happy with either pick. getting
the stud LT with Williams would be pretty awesome.
