I can agree with this up to #9. I really am scratching my head
at pick #9.

I would be amazed if Poles does this. I'd be looking for a trade
down if Odunze is bypassed @9.

After running a couple hundred mock drafts, this is my thoughts
on how I would approach draft if the Bears.
I for one never ever traded the first pick No one is going to
give compensation high enough for the Bears to move off the
first round pick. Personally for me it would take 4 first round
picks and 3 second round pick to begin the conversation.
The #9 pick is where things obviously get interesting. If the
Bears can trade down a couple of spots, that is always when the
mock's turn out best. This is not always an option, which I
think mimic reality.
When you can trade down a few picks, it usually allows for Verse
or more importantly to me Bryon Murphy DT from Texas. DT seems
real thin in this draft and I love Gervon Dexter (Go Gators!)
but he not a 3 tech in my opinion.
That slight trade down gives you some trade ability, along with
the extra 2nd round next year to pick up an early 2nd round this
year. Some times Chop Robinson falls down that far or draft
Darius Robinson.
I usually then try and trade up to the 60's with what's left
from this year's draft and maybe one of our 4th, 5th, 6th round
picks next year.
I can net in that area one of the sub 4.5 40 WR's that we need
to stretch the field.
You walk away with starting QB, DT, DE and speed WR. This
scenario is quality over quantity. You give up some future
draft capital but still have your #1,2,3,4,5,6 next year. We
are starting to have some depth on this team, I think quality
over quantity is important.

Assuming the top WRs and Alt are gone, Murphy might be the pick
straight up. I think they like him that much.
