Would’ve ranked No. 1 among edge rushers at the Combine.

Plenty fast enough but how come he only had 4 sacks last season
with only 15 total tackles. The guy on the other side Adisa
Isaac had almost double the number of sacks.
Maybe Robinson was doubled ? Still an option for the Bears if
       they trade down at 9.

I think Poles has backed himself in a corner if his goal is a
top Wr @ 9. IMHO he needs a plan B just in case. And he still
doesnt have that RDE opposite Sweat.

       What's done is done.
Its Caleb and then what to do with the ninth pick.
       WR or DE ?
       Joe Alt for LT?
Combined with a previous first rounder for RT and the sudden
signing of LG C RG backups ...
Alt fills out the lineup for a rookie QB.

I think Alt is more of a possibility now than he was a week or
so ago. I like Braxton but Alt would be tempting if he fell to
       9.
Bears have been buying time with most of their recent activity
by adding an aging safety, aging but productive WR on a 1 year
deal, solid center on a 1 year deal, and recently more JAG
       defensive lineman...
Not criticizing these signings as you have to fill holes and the
first 3 are definite upgrades. That's kind of the way the NFL
operates. You can't fill every position with a mid 20s guy you
       drafted.
Right now biggest hole is RDE - no other position is close.
Atlanta looks like they'll take Turner at 8. The next guys are
Verse, Latu and Robinson. Can the Bears trade down and snag one
of those DEs assuming Nabers and Odunze are gone?
But then again there are mocks where Odunze and Turner are
sitting there at 9...damn, Poles has a tough job doesn't he?

The beauty of it is that no matter what happens with the ninth
pick its going to be a hell of an upgrade even if trading down.

I think they should draft Odunze or Nabers if available at 9.
That would give them top receivers in all 3 age groups.
The defense aches for a pass rusher and they may see 2 of the
top 3 available a few picks later while still getting a “nice”
receiver with the trade compensation but the top receivers are
       real back breakers.

I dont think I have seen any/many mocks that have Alt fall to 9.
I would grab him and build the trenches.

Not many any more. Most all have him going to Tennessee at 7.
I don't know that they have a true LT. Titans should be solid
at WR with Ridley and Hopkins.

Glad the Bears didn't draft Skoronski, Adam Hoge...
Say Nabers and Rome are gone and the Bears trade down to maybe
mid to late teens and the top 3 edges are gone. Is Byron Murphy
a possibility or will they bet on Dex and Pickens to take the
next step? Chop Robinson, Brian Thomas, Adonai could be
       available.
It wouldn't surprise me if Poles does a double trade down as
some mocks suggest. Poles loves collecting picks.

I watched a log of Texas football and Murphy is probably the top
3 technique in this draft, but I wonder how much of his
production was due to offenses focusing on the other UT DT, the
       giant, T'vondre Sweat.
I think Malik/Odunze are better WRs than Turner/Verse/Latu are
DEs, but the need at DE is more right now than at WR.
Maybe the BEars trade down with a team looking for a QB. Denver
has nobody. Raiders have Minchew. Seattle has a solid but 33
year old Geno Smith. If you can trade with one of those teams
maybe you can still get that DE and pick up a 3rd.
If the Bears trade down to late first, those guys may be gone
and it could come down to Robinson, Mitchell and Turner. But
       Bears could get a middle/late 2nd rounder.
