traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in hopes of boosting their
injury-depleted secondary. He combined for just one interception

We seem to be stocking up on Safeties after cutting Eddie
Jackson.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Bears don't draft a safety given
that they only have 5 picks now and nothing past the 4th round.
With the signing of Byard to go with Brisker and the other
recent signing Tavarious Moore. I figure they will let Elijah
Hicks and Quindell Johnson battle it our for the 4th spot.
Those 4th rounders could be used for roster spots at HB, backup
TE, offensive and defensive line and WR.

I wouldn't mind getting Connor Williams with the ACL discount
while having a bridge center like Bates to cover him until he
gets healthy.

free-agent RB D’Andre Swift, per sources. He is expected to be a
primary Chicago target with free agency now open.
