Poles had to give up the better of the their 4th rounders!
Dude will be 32 next month. And BTW he wears #13.
Not sure now that one of the top 3 WRs is there at 9.
Cardinals and now the Chargers probably take the first two at 4
       and 5.
Maybe DE (Turner if even he's there or Verse) or a trade down at
9 to pick up another draft pick?

Allen’s a good pickup for any quarterback.
He’s always open and just has that instinct without great speed.

He makes the offense better no matter who the QB is.

Looks like Poles has switched gears from the "future" to the
       "now"...
After the last regime, I'm not big on trading all the draft
picks away for veterans. But, we'll see. Usually still a lot of
talent left in the 4th round, 32 year old receiver, I guess..

A little nugget about the Allen trade, he is in a contract year.
If he leaves via FA after the season, the Bears can recoup a
mid round pick. So basically a rental with an option to buy.
And a rebate, if we don't buy.

Sounds all good. But you wonder about 32 year olds especially
at skill positions. But he's coming off a nice season and has
been shown to be somewhat durable.
I hate to look at the Packers but their best receivers last year
were taken in the 4th and 5th rounds. The Bears' recent 3rd and
4th round WRs are looking like mistakes.
I guess like Chif says you can't always be in rebuild mode - you
have to decide at some point to just go for it.

Steelers trade Pickett to Eagles, one less landing spots for
       Fields.

Let's see. Pickett is gone. So is Rudolph...and Trubisky.
Looks like Steelers need a backup for a 35 year old QB maybe?

I havent figured out what Poles' draft plan is. If his plan were
to unload Fields, the NFL seems to have him blocked. They have
him setup to keep Fields and trade down from #1

Regardless of what we think Poles should/could/might do, this
front office has been very good at not giving away their
       intentions.....
