Been looking around the various online baseball discussion shows
last couple of days and agree that the distinction between
trade/free agent speculation and trade/free agent reporting is
murky during this period of baseball off-season. The “real”
journalists, Rosenthal, Heyman, Morosi, etc. do it too. Mostly
speculation because nobody really knows anything currently. When
there’s real movement and hard news to cover, things will
change.
Agree that each person can judge themselves what is of interest
and should make their own judgments about credibility. Always
felt that way. To each his own.

I snuck over to a Blue Jays message board and they really
weren’t talking about Bichette to the Cubs, but they were
discussing trading him before this. They don’t think he’ll sign
and there might be some other issues as well.

I vaguely recall something about being overshadowed by guys like
Vlad and others. Being a locker room problem. Might be
thinking of someone else.

I think the Cubs have a strong clubhouse environment and some
good, positive guys. I think being able to accommodate an
imperfect locker-room guy, I think the Cubs would maybe be
relatively well equipped for that?

It looks as if he will get 25 million per year for the next 11
years. No way in the world would I take that off their hands.
