I would think you can just release Peterman. I wouldn't put
Bagent on the practice squad, it's crazy that he is ... was
under the radar playing Division II.

FWIW a few thoughts from last night's game:
1. What value does PJ Walker serve ? That he superficially
represents Fields ? From what we hear he's not very good in
practice, not good in scrimmages, not good in games. Why is he
here ?
2. Johnson is a BEAST.
3. Colts scrubs better than Bears scrubs.
4. Every snap PJ Walker takes is a waste of time better used by
someone else.
5. Seeing that 2006 SB banner hanging from the rafters almost
made me throw up in my mouth :D
6. Not sure when Colts decided to not play starters, but it
seems like it was long after Flus announced the starters would
sit. Afraid of retaliation for cheap hits on Fields during the
practices ?
On to Preseason week 3 !

1) No value. Ball comes out way to slow. Indecisive with open
receivers and took sacks. Doesn't look particularly mobile.
And he's short. The only thing going for him is experience and
$2M guarenteed contract.
2) RJ looks good but so did Foreman. Don't know how many
touches he'll get - but he will get some. Also plays special
teams.
3) Who cares?
4) Agreed - let's see what happens in game 3.
5) What happened in 2006? Was there a Super bowl? Fortunately
I have disassociative amnesia.
6) I think they said they got a lot out of the practices and
held out the starters to avoid injury. It will be interesting
to see who plays game 3. It may be more of the same. I did not
hear anything about cheap shots on Fields.

1. I assume they signed him because he was competent with
Carolina and has a decent arm. Who knows what happened but
they’ll have a tough decision if they don’t keep 3. Guys like
Bagent are camp darling and when they have to go in regular
season things are very different.
5. They beat Rex Grossman Whoopi’s. Was there ever a lesser
quarterback in the superbowl?
6. I read a Colts db knocked the ball out of Fields hand during
a don’t touch the Wb drill and Eberflus yelled at him.

Big decisions on D-line. Obviously Gipson is at risk - maybe
they can get a 7th for him. Lewis gets another sack - I don't
know if he's a liability against the run but he's got quite the
pass rush. Raheem Green did record a stat Saturday - an
offsides. I've only seen him in 2 short stints - the coaches
have seen him daily for a few weeks now. Maybe they like what
he brings, but Gipson is in his last year so....
2nd big decision also onthe D-line. We know the 4 they'l keep,
but what about rookie #73. You can stash a rookie like Kendall
Willaimson on the PS - but I doubt Travis Bell would stay there
long. I think he's going to get hurt soon. Havng said that -
I would have no problems with starting the season with both
Dexter and Pickens as starters. Jones and Billings are only
signed for one year. Could one of them be let go to make room
for Bell?
Although not popular with fans I think Velus Jones keeps a spot.
It may come down to St. Brown vs Pettis. May depend on
Claypool's injury status.
Patrick hardly played - I would think he gets a spot because of
his versatility. But Kramer may have more of a future. Another
guy that may land on the PS.
Defensive backfield is crowded. All I know is that Blackweel
and Jaylon Jones are keepers. Rookie Terrell Smith too. At
safety Elijah HIcks for sure. I like AJ Thomas over Colbert for
the 4th safety.
QB. They'll probably keep PJ and release Petermen. Even though
Petermen has had the better preseason.
LB: I like Baskerville. Has Dylan Cole ever put on a uniform?
Is he healthy?
OL - Borom has played well. I feel better about him at swing
tackle - he's played both sides during PS. Collins is OK -
nothing special. At guard Carter is a lock. Leatherwood is on
the fence. I guess he can play tackle - but it would be in a
desparate situation.

Colts on both days knocked Fields down and were more physical
than should be allowed in a controlled practice. Flus was not
happy.

I think now we get to see if the bears have really changed all
that much. The undrafted kid is lightyears better than the other
2, especially Quinn 2.0 , old bears keep the guy they screwed up
getting in the first place and spending millions and dump the
kid. Same sh-it different day. New bears? Hope not

If it did come down to EQ v. Pettis, I would take Pettis all day
and Sunday. I need someone to catch a punt without drama.
Yes, Bell might have a mystery injury soon. If they can
overlook Ngakoue's run deficiency, I think Lewis has a good
chance to stick.
Cutting Peterman and keeping Bagent will be the easiest decision
for Poles to make on cutdown day.
A tackling dummy has played better than Mr. $2M guaranteed, but
his spot is safe for now IMO...
