those mega-K guys are going to fail. And when guys have been
consistent K-kings for three years against college pitchers,
it's kinda inconceivable to think they're going to fix that
against better pro pitching, which will get continuously better
with each step up the chain.

can't hit, as seems probable, he'll fail too. But if he can,
he's got a chance. Unlike college guys who have established for
three years that they can't, at least it's an unread story for
       him.

Kinda depends on why the strikeout so much. Some teams have
found ways to cut K rates if they are swinging and missing too
much. Some guys have learned to make better plate decisions.
If you have a contact heavy team having a guy with power and a
30% K-date won’t kill the team. What is weird is Boswer as a
       freshman had a 17% k-rate. As a junior it was 30%.

Fun to see a Davidson guy drafted that high, and by the Cubs no
       less!

If anyone is interested, link below is a 20 minute interview
with Billy Swoope from a local Old Dominion podcast earlier this
year. Not much Cubs stuff but Swoope talking about life of a
scout and you kinda get the feel of how he seems to know every
baseball person in his area, (Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, DC,
North Carolina). Mentions that Cubs were going to draft David
Wright but Mets grabbed him several picks before Cubs turn
(think ended up with Andy Sisco instead of Wright).
       Starts at about 44:00.

I'm not that excited about Bowser myself. He can be caught
chasing high and away while trying to hammer at everything.

But he has a career as a doo-wop singer to fall back on if the
Ks sink him as a ballplayer.

Interesting prospect, good signing. Presumably they see him
       strictly as an outfielder.
