New pick. Kantrovitz expects no signability issues with either
       guy.
The Cubs will know the dollar amount of every pick they make.

I am sure that they believe that. But I doubt that oral
agreements are binding in these circumstances, and there is
always the chance that someone will change their mind.

Very, very rare that someone reneges on an agreement, even
       informal with draft.

       BA:
Paciolla was not a well-known name entering the spring, but
plenty of scouts ran into Temecula Valley High in California to
see the 6-foot-2, 185-pound shortstop. Paciolla is a projection
power hitter who has a body you can dream on. He’s tall and lean
with plenty of room for more strength gains in the future, and a
chance to get to above-average power. While most scouts seem to
think he’ll be a power-over-hit bat, the industry is split on
his pure hitting ability. Some think he showed a shorter swing
throughout the spring and will be able to make adjustments with
hands that work well, while others question his swing decisions
and contact ability, noting that he pulls out on his front side
with some frequency. At the plate, Paciolla stands with a closed
off lower half, but will still get caught out in front trying to
pull the ball to left. Defensively, Paciolla has soft hands and
an average arm now that could become above-average with more
strength, but he lacks the footspeed to stick at shortstop
despite solid instincts. He’s a below-average runner and takes
time to get underway out of the box, but he could profile at
third base as he develops physically. Paciolla is committed to
       UCLA.

UCLA recruit Paciolla figures to be at least slot, if not more.

It's a HS P named Nazier Mule. Fun name if he makes it.

Doesn’t seem like it. U of Miami recruit.
       BA:
Mule has been famous from an early age, standing out for his
athleticism at shortstop, raw power and outstanding arm
strength. As he enters his draft year, Mule has the talent to
play both ways in college at Miami, but his professional future
looks brighter on the mound. He has reached 100 mph, even more
remarkable given that he will be 17 until October. This spring,
Mule pitched more in the 92-96 mph range, then after an April
start in which he threw more than 100 pitches, he felt soreness
in his arm and hasn’t pitched since, though he has still been
hitting and playing first base at times. When Mule was pitching,
multiple scouts noted he was often pitching backwards, throwing
more breaking balls than fastballs. Over the summer, Mule’s
slider was often fringy to below-average, but some scouts who
saw him this spring said he snapped off some better sliders and
was showing more feel for his changeup. Some of them also
thought that, while he wasn’t throwing as hard as they had seen
in the past, he was showing more pitchability than he had before
when he was more of a thrower than a pitcher, though others
noted times where he lost his control. Mule’s youth, athleticism
and raw arm strength will appeal to some teams, while others
view him as a high-risk prep arm.

Paciolla and Mule ranked overall #126 and #98, respectively, by
       BA.
