day they deal Contreras…to soften the blow…

According to CCDT, the Ferris signing leaves the Cubs $5 under
the max, with overage.
THAT’s FIVE DOLLARS.
As in, a Lincoln.

Ricketts is so cheap, why did he withhold a Lincoln?
Glad to see it all wrapped up. Hope the kid becomes our World

I believe that the Ferris bonus is the highest bonus paid to any
drafted player after pick #23 in round 1, with the exception of
the $3.7 bonus to Brock Porter by the Rangers in round 4.

Now you are just being silly. They plan to use that five
dollars to sign Wheat and Blatter. Wheat, being the higher
draft choice, will get 3 and Blatter 2.
