Not arguing anything Craig stated, but Alabama baseball isn’t as
big time as one might believe, relative to the rest of the SEC…

Andrew Cashner the best in the twenty years between Prior and
Wicks.
Pierce Johnson and Paul Blackburn were picks 43 and 56. Mooney
isn't literally incorrect, but guys taken in the 40's and late
50's aren't really what we usually envision when we think "first
rounder".
Seems pretty urgent that Wicks and Horton reverse that record of
futile drafting.

Heh heh, in that context I certainly wouldn't imagine that some
back-of-staff freshman from Montana is getting life-changing NIL
money.

If you dont think the SEC recruits with the ladies you're
clearly not from around these parts.

I'd also guess out of state tuition for Alabama is worth more
than the $125K bonus he'd get from the Cubs.
Alabama might not be the cream of the crop in baseball in the
SEC, but that's still a school that wants first rate sports
teams across the board and probably has the facilities to back
it up. I can't imagine him signing, but you never know.

He's going to get a fractional scholarship, not a full
scholarship. Baseball doesn't have enough scholarships to field
a full team. The Cubs can pay for tuition to college outside of
his signing bonus though.
I've actually heard rumors that some baseball players are
getting $250,00 or more in NIL money, despite Alabama's use of
the bagman in the past, they are fairly behind the curve on NIL
deals except for their stud football players.
