Wow, that's really interesting. I don't think they signed that
many last year, and with three HS guys today, a couple with
decent college commits, I'd wondered. I imagine you always take
at least one more expensive prospect than you figure you can
sign, just in case one of your overslot-intended guys, like
Ferris for hypothetical example, were to fail his physical.

Nice McGwire article. Said he kinda learned his splitter from
       Rollie Fingers.

Wish he'd learned a spitter from Gaylord Perry instead.

       Very fun.

CCDT has a link to McGeary’s Twitter page where he refers to
himself as a Cub. So, he has a deal apparently.

Not that there's any suspense, but Mule's coach said he'll be
       going pro.

Of the 3rd-day guys, 19th-round Blatter is the guy I expect
won't sign. He's the only young one, he just turned 18 earlier
this month; he's an Alabama recruit, so big-time program; and
he's big and already all-state and throws hard. I assume he
will NOT sign, unless an overslot like Ferris fails his physical
and some overslot cash becomes unexpectedly available.
JP Wheat turns 20 in two weeks. He'd seem the only other
       overslot candidate.
The rest of the 3rd-day guys are all at least 21. Some may get
the full $125K slot, but certainly not all; and I doubt any of
       them will get any overslot.
One other possibility is that perhaps Blatter or Wheat might
also consider redirecting and going to a JC, and keeping their
options open for next spring and beyond.
