"Look, guys, since your manager was tampering with Big Z, don't
expect us to pay more than 100% of his salary and give you more
than a half dozen prospects along with him. We're playing
hardball here."

Below is Arizona Phil's take on the likely 40-man roster. Seems
that there is more of a roster crunch than in recent seasons.
Biggest surprise (to me) is adding (again) Robert Coello, who
pitched pretty well during the 2nd half of the season. Hope
he's wrong about Koyie Hill retaining a spot.

B. Jackson is not subject to the Rule 5, so there is no reason
to add him during the off-season.

If Phil's roster projections are correct, perhaps the biggest
risk for the Rule 5 draft would be Junior Lake.

Let's hope Phil's wrong about Koyie Hill taking up a slot.
By the way, if Epstein (or Friedman or whomever) is the new GM
and he decides to keep Hill, will his "honeymoon" be the
shortest in Cubs fan history?

Curious, my Facebook account listed JR as a "Person I may know"
this morning. How the heck did they figure this out...we both
post about the Cubs on Facebook? Can they can link our email
addresses to this site? Perplexed!
