Now Cactus, If Koye had played more games then Geo would have
played less and Geo wouldn't have had as many errors. I just
wanted to point that out before another poster had to go thru a
mega post berating and correcting you.

Hill is the most likely non-tender in this group. However,
he'd only get a mild raise to $850K, and it's quite possible the
Cubs keep him around due to defense, familiarity with the
pitching staff, and other intangibles.
Defense...right...

That's the equivalent of saying we keep Otto around for
intelligence...

I was going to say that it was like keeping Jes around because
of his agreeable disposition.

Yeah...I was gonna go there, but I had already done one, so I
left it for someone else...

If the Yankees lose today, and go into the offseason with the
knowledge that they pitched AJ Burnett in an elimination game
and lost...is there any chance that Girardi's job is in
jeopardy?

Never know. Tito's already gone. Only the Cubs have low
expectations as long as the manager has cutesy nicknames for his
boys.

It is the Yankees. They have done such things in the past.

Do the Yankees really have anyone better to start, though? I
haven't followed that series closely...but I'm assuming Nova has
already pitched. Sabathia pitched yesterday after the rainout
in game 1. Do they have anyone else who is likely to do better
than Burnett?
Burnett starting seems to be more on Cashman than Girardi.

Is Garcia injured? ERA+ of 122 for the season, compared to
Burnett at 86.
