I don't see it happening either. I am saying what I think they
SHOULD do, not what I think they WILL do.

btw: I will NOT judge the new guy by whether or not he signs a
big FA like Fielder or Pujols, whether or not he hires Sandberg,
or what he does with Soriano. Those issues are not killers.
Quade, Zambrano, and Hill...those should be no brainers.

I've never understood the emphasis on Hill. I mean, I
understand he's horrible, but he's just the back up catcher.
Under Lou it was bad because he played him too much. But I
       thought Quade handled him fine.
In the grand scheme of things, he has about as much relevance to
the direction of the organization as I do.

And what Epstein does with you will be one of the most telling
       decisions of the winter.

He should probably get a couple B-level prospects. Anything
less, start the Fire Theo Now! campaign.

mO, Hill as a person and a player is irrelevant. He's a symbol.
The Cubs have kept burned out veterans, good old boys, on the
roster over younger players for some time. Clevenger and
Castillo deserved and earned the spot, obviously in my opinion,
which isn't worth a whole lot, but that's my opinion. There is
a place for guys like Hill on rosters here or there, but for a
team that's building or rebuilding, I couldn't see it. I think
that's why others target him and use him as a whipping boy, too.
       For that I ask forgiveness.
Sort of like Barney. I couldn't understand the constant
hammering on Barney, but I do understand the thought that we
weren't giving one of the other guys who may have had more
potential an opportunity, but like Hill, the season didn't
       collapse because of Barney.
So, bottom line, I like Hill. I like his story. I like his
courage. But I found it odd how opportunities to bring up
deserving players were not taken because of some kind of Hill
worship. Okay, that's over the top.

Hill only played in 46 games this year and only 38 of them were
starts. His expanded playing time is more legend than anything.

As a symbol, that was 46 games too many. :)

Probably, but don't forget this organization nearly went and
should have gone to the World Series with Damien Miller and Paul
       Bleeping Bako.

I don't think anyone is saying that Hill cost the Cubs a chance
to win more than an extra game or so this year.
But still, it's a win. And bad management is bad
management...they shouldn't be let off the hook for an obviously
stupid decision just because it doesn't have as much impact as
some of their other stupid decisions.
