Yeah it was disappointing but I’ve learned not to make much of
       preseason games.

Marqui Christian had a good game. Trevis Gibson another good
game. Nice to see Thomas Graham make a play, he didn't do
anything last week. CB depth not there.
Special teams terrible again. We miss Sherrick McManis.
Adams & James solid again. WR depth is awful.

And Nagy is still an idiot.

With a little more (sober) time to digest the game a little,
while there many reasons for pessimism, but also some reasons
for optimism as well. So I'll take both and run with them:
       1. (Optimist) Its only preseason. Coaches want looks and do not
really game plan. (Pessimist) Nagy and his offense was in
mid-season form- no rythm, everyone making mistakes. Nagy as a
playcaller is like a like a deaf man conducting an orchestra.
       2. (Optimist) Well, of all three phases, it looks the the
offense is the only one that hasn't gotten worse. (Pessimist)
Well, of all three phases, it looks the the offense hasn't
       gotten any better (Pessimist).
       3. (Optimist) Dline depth looks good. (Pessimist) Dline depth
will be needed because the starting front cannot seem to play
       conistently or stay healthy.
       4. (Optimist) Desai looked pissed on the sideline with the
performance of his defense. Maybe that will translate to action
to correct the lack of effort or result. (Pessimist) Desai's
"roll over and rub my belly" defense made him look lost and
clueless on the sidelines like someone stole his lunch money-
and was powerless to do anything about it. Very Mel
       Tucker-esque.
       5. (Optimist) Fields took a nasty hit on a play and bounced
back. Indeed, he learned from and when he play happened again
and deftly avoided the hit. (Pessimist) Fields took a nasty hit.
Afterward he appeared a bit hurt. The Bears are 1 hit away from
having a Dalton/Foles QBed team *shudder*
       6. (Optimist) Special teams are working out a bunch of guys that
will probably be on the street. Nothing to worry about there.
(Pessimist) Special teams coverage and returns suck ass and will
cost games if it is not fixed pronto.
       7. (Optimist) All the things wrong so far can be fixed before
the season starts- false starts, missed tackles, missed
assignments. (Pessimist) From what we've seen so far, which
phases has this team improved since last year ? In the NFL, if
you are not getting better, you are getting worse...

Frankly our coaching sucks! It has sucked for years! Nagy was
riding on Vic F coat tails the first year. Since Vic left our
tackling sucks or blocking sucks, we are soft. We start every
season out soft and it seems to bite us as we try to contend
later in the year for a playoff spot.
This team has a lot of talent. My buddies who watch a lot of
football but are fans of other teams even see it. They say Nagy
wasted what should have been a decent run for the Bears. I have
       to agree.
A couple of positives. The 7th round DT looks like he can
really contribute and probably makes Goldman replaceable next
year. I personally am tired of Goldman's attitude on the Covid
thing and it shows that leadership is not leading, the players
       do what they want.
Borom looks like a future tackle for us. If/when Jenkins gets
healthy our Oline depth will be the best I can remember in a
       long time.
Our LB depth is the best its been in a long time.
I think Jesse James is making Jimmy G. expendable, to bad we
could not trade him for a starting RT or LT tackle or starting
       WR.
I believe no Hicks, Graham, Dalton, Goldman, Quinn (not sure if
possible with his contract) next year which would free up
massive amounts of salary cap. We need to sign ARob long term,
WR depth not good. Robinson on long term deal will free up some
       salary cap as well.

One game doesn't make or break a team or a player, especially
preseason.. But I have to laugh my as$ off at Trubisky looking
like a true NFL QB and making the Bears D look like the JV
squad. I felt all along that Mitch wasn't the problem. Maybe
that was Mitch's superbowl moment, I don't know. I think once
again the Bears are incapable of seeing what and who are the
       problem.
Question is, will this team be ready to play when the first real
       game is played?

Defense: Bears had backup ILBs in there the whole game. Mack
played a series or two - same with Hicks. Quinn is still a
question mark but this year they have 2 or 3 guys that can back
him up. No Goldman but not only is Tonga a beast so is Pennel.
Not sure they can keep all 3.
Biggest concern is still nickel and CB. Vildor looks
respectable but still not sure who will emerge at nickel. Has
       Trufant played in the preseason?
Offensively. LT and RT are scary bad. Even one of my favorite
Bars had an uneven game. Daniels should be in there next
weekend. Need to see more of Borom - wasn't that impressed, but
that was his first action in the NFL and most likely at LT.
Guess we have one game to evaluate him and Peters next week -
       default is Wilkinson.
I like Adams - makes the spectacular catch but then he doesn't
make the un-spectacular. WR choices will surprise many.
STs is a cluster...Herbert looks decent and Daz looks the part
but didn't have many holes. Can he get some action at WR?

I wouldn’t be surprised if Borom plays a lot of LT this season.
He looks more athletic than most of the other linemen from what
       little there was to see.
Wilkerson is dreadfully slow and I have no expectations of
       Peters staying healthy.
Wilkerson was bulrush into the qb a couple of times.

Our OL will be our downfall. again.
You can't get good QB play with a bad Oline.
I think our WR/TE will be ok as long as the top guys stay
healthy. Robinson hasn't played and Mooney and Kmet have played
       very little.
If the Oline can play NFL average I think our offense will be
OK. I have no confidence our Oline will be NFL average or
       anywhere close.
On defense our secondary is our weak spot. I think we will be
Ok as long as our Dline is getting pressure but if they don't we
will give up a ton of yards and big plays through the air.

Yeah I’m concerned about Fields having catastrophic injury with
       that line.
That hit he took was a wake up call
