And that is the issue with Nagy. "Will keep Justin in the
pocket", and here's the kicker "We won't change that no matter
how bad it looks...all game long"
I know it is preseason, but when the Bills played us in
preseason, that ball was out of Trubisky's hand in lesst than
1.5 seconds, probably quicker. They kept doing it, and it kept
working. Then, it slows the rush because they think the ball is
coming out fast. Did we ever see any of that?
Pekin brought up a good point. In 2018 when the offense would
struggle, the Bears would load up with a fullback. Seemingly
for one series and almost always a touchdown. Then immediately
go back to what he wants to run. That is not the sign of a
sound offensive system. We actually looked like an NFL offense
last year toward the end of the year because Nagy gave up
playcalling and the plays were probably from the fringes of his
philosophy and play book.

Nagy will probably have a similar gameplan for the lions to that
which Lazor used at the end of last year. Bears should be able
to beat the lions like that. Then he'll probably go back to
dalton and his shit scheme that he still thinks will all
magically come together and work.

By the time Bears figured that out the Cleveland DBs were in our
receivers jock straps. That and Fields doesn't have the
chemistry yet with our #1 receivers yet. He doesn't trust
himself to throw them open. The more he got sacked the more
hesitant he became.
Nagy's excuse was Cleveland took away the roll out. So
Cleveland took away the runs, the drop backs, the roll outs - I
guess they were the '85 Bears. Maybe we should have just
punted on 1st down.

Um Cleveland may have taken away some things, but they didnt
take away everything. I am sure a competent play caller could
have figured something out. Even if it was a simple roll out.
Just saying.

Or a screen or max pro or TE chip and release. Then we know it
was Lazorbrain calling the game...even if Nagy is still talking
to his Denny's menu for the TV...

That is another thing that irks the **** out of me every game.
Why can whoever we are playing run 5 or 6 screens a game for a
good 15-20 yards and we can not execute one? You see the damn
screen coming when no one is blocking you why do you continue to
let it work? AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I just want to throw my remote
through the TV every time I see their O-Line just release the
blocks and start running out to the left or right for the
screen.
3rd and 14? No problem. Run a screen for 16 yards and a first
down. Probably going to be a couple of missed tackles in there
as well.

Other than those pinpoint passes Mayfield made along the left
and right sideline, their screen passes hurt the Bears' defense.
In the old days of the 4-3-4, you had a linebacker on each side
instead of a nickel back. But that's no excuse since there are
more WRs blocking. The DBs have to fight off those blocks
better and the ILBs have to recognize the screen developing
better.
It's a great play against an aggressive defense. Maybe the
Bears offense will learn how to run it cuz I don't think I've
seen one to the HB this season.

Its all window dressing on the funeral that is the Chicago Bears
until ownership improves. The McCaskeys McCaskets are set to
bury this franchise with them. Considering past performance, how
can any have faith that Groundskeeper George will make the right
decision even when one is made ?
Bears only team to not have a 4000 yard passer in a 16 game
season. And now not in a 17 game season (when the rules for the
passing game are so much harder to defend).
But seriously, what incentive is there to change a multi-billion
dollar venture that is still printing money ?
Hate to be so negative this morning but the Bears inspire no
confidence....
