Fields was playing very flat footed and you could tell he was
overwhelmed and focusing too much. He's not a pocket passer and
he looked more relaxed outside the pocket when he had the
chance, which wasn't much. It's really hard to tell if he'd be
ok when you've got a coach calling plays that make it very hard
for him to succeed....

What coach doesn't call a play when you drop back 3, 5 or 7
steps and throw the ball? If your offensive line can't give you
at least 2.5 to 3 seconds you're pretty much screwed. Teams
will take away the roll out and the bootleg if you can't drop
back. The DBs just kept playing tighter and tighter and the
Bears couldn't come up with ONE play to loosen them up.
Nagy thought he was going to outsmart the Cleveland D and sit in
the pocket but discovered he didn't have the talent on the
O-line...or QB to do that.

And why wasnt JP Holtz used to help on Myles Garrett? Or
anybody else for that matter? Olin Kruetz was very critical of
the OL play, but also said the play calling was also to blame.
And I too was thinking why are our WRs blanket covered every
single time? Add Mike Furrey to the list of people that need to
see the door.

I hate to say it, but the Bears are not known for for firing a
head coach mid season.. They are known for hanging on to a (bad)
head coach too long..

From Fansided...fwiw...
Out of the 42 plays the Bears ran on offense, Nagy called just
two designed rollouts for Fields. The Bears have a big, strong
quarterback who runs in the 4.4 range and decided to keep him in
the pocket for all but just two of his drop backs.
Nagy also failed to set his quarterback up with the proper
protection. Out of the 30 called pass plays, Nagy’s offensive
line went with just a 5-man protection on 21 of those plays.
Over two thirds of Fields’ called passing plays, he was
protected with the bare bones. As ESPN analyst and former head
coach Rex Ryan put it, not even Tom Brady should be given that
little of protection.
...the Bears’ offensive line was horrifically and historically
bad. They allowed Fields to get hit every other drop back, on
average. That’s a fact, per Pro Football Focus. Fields was hit
on 15 of 30 drop backs on Sunday. Myles Garrett came up with a
team record 4.5 sacks on the day, with plenty of others chipping
in on those nine sacks. Jadeveon Clowney added a pair of sacks
himself, while the two of these guys combined to hit Fields 11
times...Garrett and Clowney combined for 14 pressures on Fields.
Keep in mind, the Bears had only 30 called passing plays.

No matter how you slice it, Nagy is ultimately responsible. So
did he call plays on purpose to make Fields look bad or is he
that big of a moron? Its one or the other.

If Nagy called plays to make Fields look bad he'd qualify for
something below moron.

Its possible he called plays to make him look bad, to validate
HIS plan to not play him all year, ala Mahomes. And that would
make him the biggest Ahole out there. Either that, or he is
just plain stupid.

Conspiracy theory- genius called the game that way to prove he
was right that Fields was not ready and justify his sticking
with his "plan" since the start of training camp.
Occam's razor- genius is just an IDIOT. Period.
It should be hard look look at oneself in the mirror after that
garbage game plan and not be ashamed at the "man" staring back.
Genius is treating Fields like he's never played football
before. And if he's not quite ready its because of his "plan" to
not get him enough reps with the ones.
Nagy- for the love of God and all that is Holy STOP BEING YOU !
Be someone else, puhhhlease !
The problem is gardener George will ensure we have a whole
season of more brilliant playcalling that will put Fields on IR.
This franchise is cursed.....

I honestly hope that he becomes the first Bears coach fired
during the season.......
