I was at the game yesterday. Great day for football, but didn't
care for the last 5 minutes or so.
You guys covered just about everything. I missed a lot from
that stands - I'll re-watch the game tonight that I recorded.
If Fields starts next week - I'm good with that. If Dalton
does...fine. I think we've all seen that Fields is very
effective when his first read is open but struggles if its not.
He's not going to get better watching from the bench and getting
scout team snaps during the week.
Glad to see the pass rush improve but its more that the Bengals
aren't the Rams than anything else.
Vildor had a great 3rd down PD but there's no way you let a guy
get behind you with 5 or 6 minutes left in the game and up 17.
Let them try to dink/dunk and eat clock and eventually the front
4 will get to them.
As I've said all along -we need to raid some practice squads -
our nickel backs suck. Not a fan of Mustipher either but I'll
re-watch him tonight. Maybe Bars is the answer at center?

Yeah, and maybe Goldman (we can hope).
How long is Trevathan out - 3 weeks? That will be an
interesting decision.

Well the Fields era begins Sunday.
Here's hoping genius game plans to Fields' strengths, rolling
the pocket and getting him to pressure the line of scrimmage
with at least the threat of running. Wouldn't be surprised
though if genius ran RBs 30 times (something we'd all like to
have seen more consistently the past) and they are all runs up
the middle for little or no gain. Now that they have a truly
mobile threatening running QB that would seem to be his MO- out
thinking himself....
Should be interesting in any event....

Personally I doubt that game plan will be successful. What might
be successful will be Fields getting hurt.

Geez - you one of those glass not full/empty guys.
Bears O-line isn't the sieve many expected. I hope Nagy
preaches to Fields to be smart about running but that could be
difficult. Nagy was able to stifle some of Trubisky's running
in 2019.
But yeah, let's see some bootlegs and roll outs. Maybe Fields
can execute a screen or three to Montgomery - you know the
Browns will bring it.

Can someone please teach him how to slide properly also? That
slide he did after picking up that late first down made my heart
skip a beat. WTF was that?

This game could be the one where the Bears and the Browns swap
reputations- the Browns being competent and run the ball,
playing good D and the Bears failing to do any of those things.
Just saying genius needs to show he's not as incompetent as I
fear he is....
