Flopping really should be an NFL penalty. That was soccer level
flopping. He barely bumped into him.

Haven't watched the whole game yet- only got snippets during
Redzone. But first impression is that Fields needs to be working
with the number ones instead of the goddamn scout team. Nagy is
genius.....

Financially it was impossible to keep Fuller even if the Bears
let Graham go. Pace going all clown car on the Foles/Quinn
deals hurt more than overpaying Graham. Fuller's $20 million
dollar cap hit was a Packer poison pill that forced Pace's hand
as well after Fuller refused a paycut.
It really was between Hicks and Fuller and the Bears choose keep
the DL intact in hopes that Hicks stays healthy and a strong
line covers up the inexperience in the secondary.

What did we learn yesterday?
#1. Fields is not ready to start. He needs a lot of work
still. The last thing we need is for the stupid ass fans to be
booing and labeling him a bust him like they have done other
first rounders that don't light it up their first seasons.

I agree about not being ready to start, but Nagy wasnt helping
him with the play calling either. He kept calling running plays
up the middle. Let the kid do what he does well, roll out and
pass. And both Robinson and Mooney dropped TDs. I hope Dalton
is ok, and I hope Nagy doesnt get Fields killed behind our
terrible OL.

As much as I want to like Mustipher, he's got to be a priority
to be replaced.

FWIW, having seen the whole game:
1. It was good to see the offense score on the 1st drive. It was
not good to see them not score another TD the rest of the game.
When Dalton went out, it appeared genius was calling the same
kind of plays he'd call if Dalton were in. Not doing anything to
his strengths. Maybe a factor of his brilliant decision to make
him scout QB and not get enough work in with the first stingers.
Then again, this just may be "THE" Nagy offense after all....
2. Good to see Fields in. Not good to see the mistakes- but they
are all correctable with practice. The false starts, the INT,
timing with WRs etc. Receivers let Fields down big today.
Excited to see what he can do if he's given a proper week of
practice (and hope this current coaching "staph" doesn't ruin
him).
3. Defense was much better, except they are always playing with
10 men on the field when Shelly is in. A post driven into the
ground would be a better option- at least it has the chance to
be in the right place at the right time at some point in the
game.
4. Lots of mental lapses, especially on D (Robber Quinn getting
schooled in acting by a 2 year QB, Gipson foolishly taunting)
all around. Hicks also got lucky he was not flagged for roughing
the passer in the 2nd half with a dumbass shove down. When
veterans do dumbass things it usually means they are not being
held to account behind the scenes.
5. That phantom PI on Kmet- wtf was up with that ?
6. Nice to have to not mention any ST disasters. After the way
they looked in preseason it was genuine concern...
All in all a win is a win in the NFL, but as usual under this
regime, they cannot put anyone away easily and have to make it
closer than it needs to be. It almost feels like a loss. Genius
seems **** away plays and drives on offense. Very inefficient
over the length of the game. Not good when you meet playoff
caliber coached teams.
It could be worse at QB. Jets QB at one point was 5 for 5
passing- two catches by his own team and 3 by the other. And I
cannot recall seeing 3 consecutive passes intercepted offhand.
Wierd day indeed...
On to Cleveland ! :D

Other than Shelley, Gipson is the absolute last person on the
field who should be taunting anyone...

Jason Peters looks like he would play better if he lost about
50lbs.
