Foles looks terrible. After Fields leaves right back to three
and out.
You would think Foles would be tearing it up against inferior
competition.

Who stood out? LBs Caleb Johnson, Ogletree, Jones & Gipson.
DBs Shelley, Tabor.
RB Herbert WR Adams
the Center from Harvard, Redmond looked serviceable. Didn't see
Gage Cervenka.
Didn't like what I saw at WR, lots of camp fodder. I take it
Dazz Newsome ls hurt?
RB is deep. Why we signed Williams is a mystery.

FWIW here's my two cents (if anything can be gleaned from a
preseason game):
1. The defensive front is going to be fine. The back end,
however, looks a little weak. DBs etc seem to be taking a few
more chances- which will lead to more ints and giving up more
big plays. If the pass rush is not consistent, its going to be a
long year on defense....
2. Special teams coverage sucks. Guys playing tentative, waiting
for the runner to come to them instead of attacking them. Some
of this is lack of talent (a lot of these guys are playing out
their NFL dreams in its final days) but something does not seem
right there. And returning. Sheesh. The returners were (mostly)
hot garbage. I get that its preseason but they kept fucking
around and giving the O bad field position.
3. And now the elephant in the room. Every snap Dalton takes
with the ones is an utter WASTE. You know what you are going to
get with him (pocket passer, decent decision making). Fields is
so much more dynamic its a night and day difference. He also
seems to get better the more he plays. He was let down on the
1st drive by the (very avoidable) false starts. The almost int
to the TE was where the TE stumbled. He has to learn to protect
the ball while scrambling- but at least that can be taught. In a
better world than this one, Dalton would be back up and Fields
starter....
4. As far as coaching goes, it would have been nice to see
Fields get one more drive (his last one was an abortion set up
by that knucklehead returner not catching the ball before
running). You could almost feel the air let out when Foles was
trotted out. If nothing else it was a not so friendly reminder
of where the Bears have been at QB more than anything....
Onward to take on Buffalo and 1 for 2 for 10 yards Trubisky ! :D

I kinda of was all about letting Fields sit and learn. However
certain people are mature beyond their age. I believe Justin
Fields maybe one of these people. The offense is night and day
different. Why? I think Nagy is a shitty play caller
personally. He needs a dynamic QB to make his play calling
successful. A good head coach adjust to his players. However I
do not think we have the luxury of a good head coach/play
caller. I personally hope we start the season with Fields.
They way I see it he is our only hope for making Nagy's offense
work.

Wonder if Mitch will come out and play well the Trubisky Bowl
today.....
1. No real pressure on him- he's backing up a good QB.
2. Preseason is generally vanilla D with little disguising.
3. Nice guy that Mitch seems to be, you can almost get the sense
that he wants to prove something to the Bears (his comments last
week notwithstanding).
On most other days I'd wish him good luck and godspeed, but
today... I don't :D

A few of Mitch's new teammates have been barking on his behalf,
so I think the whole bills team will be motivated to make sure
he does well. I wouldnt be surprised if he does have a good
game.

I kind of expect a Cedric Benson-esque performance today by
Mitchel....
(If you get that reference then you've been a Bear fan far too
long like I)..... :D
