I think he has too much injury risk for the Stroman deal. I'd
like him on a cheaper three year deal, though.

I’d do $30/1 for Rodon. Probably $50/2. I wouldn’t give him a
third year.

I'm really hoping he gets #0 with the Cubs. I hope the Cubs
don't have some rule against not giving #0 out; when we had
Terrance Gore, we didn't give it to him.
Also Lester Strode wore #00 as a coach when we got Cole Hamels
and Strode gave his regular number up.

He might be my favorite realistic target of any pitcher this
winter, but three years guaranteed at that money? I'd have to
pass.

According to MLB sources the agent for free-agent shortstop
Carlos Correa has heard from the @Yankees, @RedSox, @Dodgers,
@Cubs and @Braves and was offered five years/$160 million by the
Astros last month.

If you're going to go nuts for anybody, that's the guy. But
Correa doesn't have to be in any hurry - he can wait out the
lockout and still be the top dog of the offseason.

Stroman clearly wants to be here (which is probably why he was
gettable), I'll say that much. Certainly a positive in and of
itself.

If the Cubs are making Correa an offer, it will be structured in
a Stromanesque fashion.
$280/8 - 40/40/40-opt out-32/32/32/32/32. Or something like
that.
