If you want to play the fantasy baseball game and imagine the
Cubs are seriously going to pursue one of the marquee shortstops
(which I don’t believe for a minute) I wonder if Seager makes
the most sense. Lefty, which the Cubs desperately need more of.
Young for a FA, so might still be good if the cubs are
contending in 3 years. Not great at SS, but adequate - the Cubs
have so many SS prospects there’s a decent chance one pans out,
and Seager should be pretty good at 3B if he slides over there
in 2-3 seasons.

All the same reasons the Yankees will be interested in him as
well…

Moskos was taken 4th overall by the Pirates because they liked
his potential as a situational lefty reliever.

Jordan Bastian
Cubs pitching coach Tommy Hottovy said a goal for staff in '22
is to have each coach "own and dominate" an area for helping
players. Addition of Daniel Moskos will bring in a coach capable
of doing that on pitch design front -- a space Hottovy thinks
the Cubs can get even better.
Pitch design front?

They should bring Darvish back just for that.

The Cubs have had success in teaching certain types of pitches,
ie spike curve balls and Vulcan change ups. Pitch design takes
current pitches and makes them better.

Unless the Cubs scouting is really down on him, I don’t see any
reason not to sign Suzuki. He’s a perfect fit for a team in
their position.
