anything in this part of the world.

I was listening to the Rant Live from Cubs Insider. Bokhari
apparently developed the Astros pitch grading system.

Patrick Mooney
The Cubs are planning to hire Greg Brown as their new hitting
coach, sources told me and @sahadevsharma. Brown previously
served as Tampa Bay’s minor-league hitting coordinator. As an
area scout, Brown signed Kiké Hernández and J.D. Martinez as
part of Houston’s 2009 draft class.

Cub hitting coaches are the baseball equivalent of Spinal Tap
drummers.

As a player, Brown hit for a .487 OPS mostly in low minors.
On the other hand, he owns a Barry Bonds autographed bat.

He sounds pretty interesting. He start as a scout. Was a head
coach at a small college program and then was named the Rays
minor league hitting coordinator. The Guardians and Rangers
interviewed him or their hitting coach jobs.

Actually if you go to Guardians.com, it still takes you to a
"Domain Name for Sale" type of page.
I'd imagine it's only a question of a few days after the World
Series where they finally do the full fledged rebranding, but
it's surprising they haven't taken care of the domain names yet.

I wonder how a hitting-coach search is conducted by a 21st
century team like the Cubs? In many sports, and in many decades
past, a team manager (or head coach) interviews and hires his
own coaches. But in Theo's world, it seemed more like Theo and
front office was maybe the driver in hiring and firing a lot of
the hitting coaches. And of course they just hired the new GM.
So, I'm curious how much a guy like this was primarily research,
interviewed, and selected by Carter Hawkins? Versus Hoyer?
Versus Ross?
I admit that I respect Ross. But I also admit I'd almost rather
NOT have him be the **primary** guy who'd have made a decision
like this. I'd rather have Hawkins and Hoyer researching and
interviewing a guy like this.
