Sharma has a piece in The Athletic proposing the Cubs bring back
Nick Castellanos as a free agent this winter, if he elects to
opt out of his current Reds contract.

I'm 100% behind that idea...even more so if the DH is
implemented starting next season...
He should have never left in the first place.

I'm skeptical that he'll opt out given the uncertainty of the
CBA.
I'm also skeptical that he'd want to come back. He has talked
about how much he loved the winning atmosphere in Chicago, and
that won't be there for a couple of years.

Agree. If being on a winner is priority, Cubs obviously should
not be his choice.
He does seem like the type of player they could maybe target,
though? Not young enough or perfect enough to get superstar
money, or to necessarily be every contender's first choice.

Gordon Wittenmyer
Apparently Cubs are in Field of Dreams game next year. Ross
spilled the beans before attempting to un-say it.

In the original Shoeless Joe novel, there is a subplot that was
cut out of the movie; a man falsely claims to have pitched for
the World Champion Chicago Cubs. He gets on to the field and
Frank Chance puts him in but he can't get anyone out and I think
his lie is revealed.
I wonder if the Cubs will put on throwback uniforms from that
era for that game. I sure hope they do, particularly if they're
the road team and they wear the all-dark-blue uniform which
looks so good.
