Just saw a report that a poll taken says that 50% of our
population will refuse to get COVID vaccines. Every community
should be gated with electrified wire.

BTW, the closest prison to me is so prisoner friendly that most
don't want to leave. Part of the fence went down one day and
the prisoners put it back up before the guards noticed. They
were afraid they'd get blamed and lose privileges. One guard
told me that one day he was in one of the towers and he saw a
mob gather by the tennis courts. The warden brought this perky
blonde in to give lessons. 365 inmates showed up. The prison
officially only has 350.

Cubs selected Gary Fenter, RHP, Orioles in the Rule 5 draft.
He'll be 25 next year. He was picked out of high school and hit
up to 97, but had a elbow injury and lost velocity. Fangraphs
last scouting report was 55/55 fastball and 55/60 curve.
2019 A Ball, 94.1 innings, 11.74 K/9, 4.10 BB/9, 1.81 ERA, 2.96
FIP, 3.33 xFIP

Ah, good news. Cubs Rule 5 pick Gray Fenter's last start was Aug
27, 2019, with five perfect innings against the Lakewood
BlueClaws. Why is that such good news? Lakewood has a great
MilBtv video feed with radar gun readings. I'll post a few
thoughts as I watch that game here.
First impressions off the first inning: short, mostly maxed out
(esp lower body) righty. Slow delivery with a lot of lean to
backside/1B. Some effort. 90-94 with the fastball, some life up
in zone. Pairs 85 mph slider w/ 79 mph curve. Commanded both.
Iffy 85 mph change.
Fenter snaps the heck out of a big curveball, he's freezing
Low-A pitchers constantly in the strike zone. Given the movement
at a pretty decent velocity, spin rates have to be good here on
that one.
I'll have to watch more for a full review on the slider and
change, which was mixed in this dominant outing. Slider did
flash above avg, incl at least two awkward K swings. I think the
lab helps here. Threw 2-3 changes: one bad, one solid enough. FB
played up - still 93 in 5th.
Sounds like there is some interesting stuff there, that might
play up in relief in short burst or somebody that could be an ok
multi-inning guy.

This is what the DBacks run production coordinator does,
according to a Fangraphs piece from earlier this year:
�A Run Production Coordinator has a lot of roles,� said Hedman.
�There are a lot of different rocks to turn over to make sure
we�re scoring as many runs as possible. I�m diving into
analytics-based projects, working with Mike Fitzgerald and his
R&D team. I�ll focus on our game-planning and advance scouting.
Some days I might be on the field, or in the cages. The culture
Darnell has created is extremely inclusive and collaborative. He
makes sure we�re doing everything we can as a staff to get our
guys everything they need.
