It's hard to pick a favorite but I like Big Z's no-hitter.

Yeah I really hate hearing that about Kasper. Then again, 15
years is a long time to be doing the same thing, and maybe he
just needed a change. Congrats to the White Sox fans who visit
here.
As for Chris Myers, he's a pro who I think is fine when he's
calling other stuff, but I agree that's a downgrade. I wish the
Cubs would put some effort into finding another Kasper instead
of settling for a generic name guy.

I guess Len didn't get to call the walk off Grand Slam winner
from Bote? That surely had to be one good call. I just looked
it was an ESPN Sunday night game.

And they put Happ in as a pinch runner at first base. :)

Yeah, Len has been great. Super sorry to have him go, very
sorry.
Interesting choice to go from TV to radio. Obviously that's
normally viewed as a step down in the career and public fame
ladder.

-In TV, the video speaks for itself, so you don't actually need,
or want to, be talking as much, and there isn't as much
requirement to be describing the action. So perhaps the greater
challenge of radio, and the greater descriptive requirement,
appeals to him?
-I'm a bit older than Len, but I think in a lot of families
having a radio broadcast on at home or while playing in the yard
or driving places in the car was a part of life; I grew up on
Cubs radio, not Cubs TV. (And was allowed to have the radio on,
not TV, while doing homework.). Maybe some of those kinds of
experiences were true for Len?
-Athletic article suggests he really want to broadcast a World
Series. Obviously local guys don't do TV, but can still do
radio broadcast.
-I wonder too whether simply the state of the franchises might
factor? The Sox are a very talented young team on the rise, and
likely to be a contender for a while. Probably easier to have
an energized broadcast when you're excited about the team's
chances. He's had his run with the Cubs through their rise and
the historic WS season; can anything Cubs ever match that? Plus
he's had some really good Cubs teams, and some bad ones. Maybe
broadcasting a loser through a somewhat extended rebuild is hard
to get excited about; and with the Cubs current personnel and
weak farm system, it's kinda hard for him to envision going
through an extended rebuild effort?
Whatever the reason, bummer bummer bummer.

When the Cubs switched to Marquee Kasper and Deshaishes had to
sign new contracts. Unless Len signed a 1 year deal the Cubs
had to let him out of it. Sucks that he's leaving. Meyers has
to be better than Chip/Carter.
