If the Cubs wouldn’t pay Schwarber, they would have non-tendered
Soler too.
The Cubs found Tepera on a minor league deal. I kinda like their
chances at finding new cheaper version of high this off-season.

Sounds like a Twilight Zone episode.
Folks are wildly celebrating after a 108 year drought and
somebody in the future has the power to change retroactively a
few small facts—and, surprise, the world comes to an end.
Let’s not change anything.

Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 1h
Albert Almora, non-tendered by Cubs and now a free agent, has
switched his representation to Magnus Sports. Previously with
Scott Boras.
For me, the Albert Almora story is always going to have a
chapter on how that foul liner into the stands in Houston
affected him. I imagine he thinks about that little girl often.

A quick look at the Cubs depth chart for 2021 now shows only two
true outfielders: Jason Heyward and Ian Happ.
There might also be an opening for a designated hitter.
Kyle Schwarber might just return.

If this is the end of Schwarber's career with the Cubs, it's a
sad moment, even if it is an appropriate decision. Lots of fond
memories, particularly in the 2015 playoffs and the World
Series.

This is a shocker and really bad news. How is the White Sox
radio PBP position better than the Cubs TV position? Is the
Ricketts family so cheap that they won't pay Len Kasper?
Sahadev Sharma @sahadevsharma
I expected some big departures from the Cubs this offseason, but
this one came as a shocker. Sources have confirmed to The
Athletic that Len Kasper is leaving the Cubs to take the White
Sox radio play-by-play job.

Or is the Ricketts family so out of touch that they think
generic Chris Myers is better than Len Kasper?

They are making it really hard to root for this team.

I guess I didn't read far enough into the article before
commenting...this might be Len's decision? He wants to be on
radio?
The team on the field probably won't be much fun to watch next
year, and now the Cubs will also lose one of the best PBP guys
in baseball who sometimes makes bad games worth watching. I
think I'm more disappointed by this than I am about
non-tendering Schwarber.

Shocker indeed. I wish the Cubs had gone after Cory Provus
who used to work with Ron Santo on WGN radio. He is now the
radio voice of the Minnesota Twins but also does considerable TV
work for the Big Ten network.
I'd describe him as "overdue to have a play-by-play job in one
of the top markets in the country".
