thanks, blue. I'd think if Mekkes could be consistently in the
92-94 range, topping at 96 on good days, he'd have a shot at an
interesting future. We've gotten the big, long-stride,
release-point-makes-his-fastball-better-than-the-velocity-would-
suggest
kind of stuff. But if pitch-lab and mechanical-tweaks and
physical-maturation were to have actual velocity up with a lot
of 93-95 and sometimes even more, that could be VERY sweet.
Do you think Cotton has velocity up with those kinds of guys?
(Not Norwood-fast, but mid-90's capacity, if used as a
let-it-rip reliever?)

I think you let Cotton play out as a starter this year at Iowa.
Mekkes had some nice movement on his fastball. The Cubs really
do have a bunch of guys to throw at the bullpen to figure it
out.
Norwood just reminds of Farnsworth, the stuff just work together
for some reason. The Cubs prospects guys are saying it is spider
control.
Anybody watch today’s game? I had to watch Creighton dismantle
another top 25 team.

Watching reruns from a few years ago?
Man Tennessee has a NET rating of 65. The 10th best team in the
Big East has a 72. Playing in the SEC must be nice.

UT beat #25 Stanford today 2 days after they beat #1 Texas Tech.
As far as the SEC goes you're either A-In it or B-Jealous of it.

Old fashioned pitching duel, with the Cubs leading 13 - 9 in the
ninth.
Rowan Wick with a horrible outing, not being able to finish his
inning. They seemed to hit everything he threw.
