Interesting article in Fangraphs a few days ago on Happ. Pointed
to a change in approach that seemed to lead to meaningfully
better numbers in the 2nd half of 2019 that could bode well for
       him moving forward.
Basically, he's had Brant Brown disease: terrific power and eye,
not the best at contact. Passivity resulted in too many 2-strike
counts, followed by an easy-K. Much like Baez, the solution for
Happ's problems seems to be swinging *more* often so as to not
get in 2-strike holes as quickly.
If the new approach is sustainable, reasonable chance he settles
in as low average, high obp/slg-type with defensive versatility.
       That's a great outcome.

Happ has 4 K in 31 PA so far in the spring. Walk and K rates are
the only things that are kinda meaningful. Happ also made a lot
more contact last year. He jumped up to 72.4% and 82% in the
       zone.

Hardly anybody hits much in 2-strike counts.
MLB hitters overall in 2019 in 2-strike counts had a slash line
       of 173-247-286.
       But, Happ is considerably worse.
       Career in 2-strike counts: 136-233-240.
Happ is a career .230 iso hitter—well above average— but in
2-strike counts he’s below MLB average iso too.
So, yes, the fewer 2-strike counts for Happ, the better.
By the way, Tony Gwynn was a lifetime .302 hitter with 2
       strikes.
Othe notables: Trout .218. Griffey Jr. 192. F. Thomas .215

After gettnig 21 hits yesterday, Cubs are getting no-hit through
6 tonight. Darvish struggled some, very few swinging strikes,
walked 3, but allowed only 1 run.

Kimbrel pitched an inning, no HR, got his fastball up to 95-96.
Couple of K's, a walk, and some weak contact. (A catcher
interference hit and a soft bouncing infield hit.) Some of his
fastballs were pretty well off, but most were strikes or pretty
       close.
Kinda wild, and not fast, but didn't look bad otherwise.

Mills and Sadler both looked sharp again tonight. They've both
       been having strong springs.
Descalso breaks up the no-hitter in the 7th.

Kris Bryant provides a calm but serious view on coronavirus and
       MLB. Like the guy.
