I think on the Hoge and Jahns podcast they said that Hicks and
Mack were both out for some of the plays on the GB TD drive.

31 teams didn't have a shot at Mahomes, he went 10th. It's all a
crap shoot, agree, but Mitch was a serious crap shoot.
I can't get over how bad the O looked last night..

Any team could have made the trade Kansas city did.
My point is he was erratic in college and far from a sure thing.

Wims 20 of 71 plays...Miller 15 of 71...
Trubisky needs to do a much better job of finding the open
man...ARob was blanketed by 2 guys on the pick in the end zone.
Stupid pass...

Should have drafted Mahomes. KC will go to SB before the Bears

Mahome's rating his last year in college was 157.0. Trubisky's
was 157.9.
Mahome's came from school known for churning out system QBs
(Texas Tech) while Trubisky played in a pro offense at NC.
There was some question as to whether Mahomes was another system
QB. And I don't know many of the draft experts that Mahomes
ahead of Trubisky.
Plus Trubisky doesn't play with all-pro's Tyreek Hill and Travis
Kelce.
And the guy that the Bears were supposed to take at #3 in the
2017 (Solomon Thomas) isn't even starting for the 49ers.
Trubisky did not have a good game and he's not Pat Mahomes NFL
MVP, but I'm not going to start whining about what we shoulda
coulda done in the draft. Trubisky has shown that he's better
than what he did last night.
Recall the Bears were ranked in the bottom third of the NFL in
offense last year. What changed this year? Did they add any
game breaking receivers? They added David Montgomery and barely
utilized him. They also lost the services of a very good TE in
Burton which is a good portion of the offense.
Bears need to cleanup their blocking assignments especially with
Daniels and Whitehair's position swap, get Montgomery more
involved (and Cohen), get Burton healthy, get Miller and Wims
involved and Nagy needs to balance his play calling better.
Recall last year we were in a similar spot after the opener and
the Bears rebounded. Next week is game 2 - come off the ledge.

Good thing they have more than a week to right the ship.
I don't think the Broncos are going to be very good, and Flacco
sure isn't Rogers.
If Nagy is a good coach they will play much better on offense
next week.

One thing Mahomes has that Mitch doesn't, Andy Reid..
Mitch has to show that he is better than he was last year. Last
night he didn't show any progress.. Remember, this is the NFL
(not for long).. Another thing, remember, Mitch was already here
when Nagy took over.

The test next week will be Fangio's D against Nagy/Mitch. No
doubt Fangio knows the ins and outs of both. Lets see if he can
capitalize.

We're all mad as hell. Like many of you were doing earlier in
the evening, I was screaming at my TV at 3am this morning
watching the recording of the game (surprised no one at home
heard me).
Sure, I felt bad that we got embarrassed on national TV against
our biggest rival in the 100th year of the NFL - just like we
did when they retired Sayers and Butkus number years ago. And I
also threw a pity party on why the Bears can't ever have a
decent offense. I've spent years...no, decades watching a
defense play its heart out and then the keystone cops Bears
offense lines up and trips over their diks.
But did you notice the completions Trubisky made were usually in
very tight windows. The passes to Robinson down the sideline.
Even the pass when Gabriel was pushed out of bounds was tight
throw. Some of Cohen's throws had guys closing in on him a
split second before the ball arrived. I give credit to the Pack
on their DB play. They have loaded up on DBs the past 4 or 5
years in the draft and now have 2 #1s, a #2 and Amos. With the
Bears abandoning the run it played right into their 4 - 1- 6
alignment.
I bet the Bears don't want to wait 10 days to wipe the stench of
this game from their memory, but it will give them some time to
work things out and maybe even Burton can use the time to get
back to health. And I'd bet Miller isn't 100% right now either.

The team just didnt look ready for game play. If only the NFL
had some series of games they play before games started
counting... not sure if we can look into that. Perhaps Nagy's
move pays off in January, but the NFL is too competitive to punt
the first 1-2 weeks of the season because you decided to bench
all your starters and your opponents did not. The OL showed very
clearly their communication was not game ready, nor imo was
their physical conditioning.
