Chatwood with a 2-out walk and HR in the first. Hits one guy in
the second. Cubs score 8 in the second, initially off
Bumgarner, including a couple of infield singles, Bote HBP and
removed from game, hope he's OK, a couple of bases-loaded walks.

I turned it on late, but the broadcasters say that Bote was hit
in the head with a fastball. No reports so far.

The report is that Bote managed to turn his head so the ball hit
the back of his helmet. This is supposed to be the best way to
receive a hit to the head. He will be watched and evaluated,
       but concussion is not expected.

I listened to parts of yesterday's game.
WEbster pitched two quick innings. The one fastball for which
they reported velocity, they said 94.
Maples had a 1-2-3 inning I believe, but I think both of his K's
were on full-counts with bad hitters chasing sliders. Might
pitch the same inning against big-leaguers and we'd be saying
"man, he's walked two out of three, he's too wild, get him out
       of there...."?
Len and Coomer seemed favorably impressed with Mekkes. He
walked one guy, and I think went to full count on another before
K'ing him. Not sure if they were more interested in him because
he looked more impressive than some of the other guys; or
whether perhaps they were just more interested because they'd
never seen him before, combined with his fascinating stats line,
plus of course being so big.
