Mahtook isn't worthy of a top 10 pick, IMO, but at least he
wouldn't be a 5th-round talent.

Keith Law also had Mahtook as his #15 overall player in his most
recent rankings.
I guess he obviously isn't a consenus Top 10, but that wouldn't
be a reach either, given how much disparity there probably is
among teams' draft lists.

Speculation is pointless. You know Wilken will draft some
backup infielder from Plainfield Teacher's College and then brag
about what a find he was, and how there was no way he'd last
past the first round so he had to grab him.

No way I'm going to like a draft pick named "Mikie."
Seriously, though, they need to get a better player with a top
ten pick than a marginal outfielder like Mikie Mahtook.
I would hate to see another signability pick just because Jim
Hendry is BFFs with the LSU coach.

Mahtook is a good athlete with a strong arm. Those things at the
very least separate him for Murton. He strikes me as a 2nd-round
pick, however.
