When does the MLB draft start?
The MLB draft may begin as soon as 82 has posted the draft order
and it is verified by the owners. Caveat: there are a lot of
players unsigned. An unsigned player cannot be drafted. If 82
picks, (he has the first pick and is free to draft anytime after
the draft order is approved) the draft proceeds UNTIMED until
our draft is scheduled to begin. The Circle has determined that
our draft should not be scheduled until as many free agents are
signed as possible, but it cannot start later than March 24 in
order to be ready for our first game on March 29.
