You have to wonder how much the player exit interviews play into
these coaching changes. If there's frequent anti-"Coach X"
sentiment, that could at least partially drive decision making.

I was wondering about that myself. Maybe even not so much player
dissatisfaction as revealing information about the game
planning, etc coaches provided to players?

"Quote. Maddon said that the coaching staff shakeup was all
about “availability” and who is on the market."
Like Delmar said, the Renteria Syndrome. Makes good sense to
me.
That would also suggest that Hickey's coming to the Cubs, even
if that hasn't been announced yet.

Gotta scapegoat somebody, and the coaches are the most
expendable.[/quote]
Certainly the most expendable. But don't think they needed to
scapegoat anybody if they didn't want to. They've seemed OK
with saying how amazing it is to reach LCS back-to-back-to-back,
with a world championship in the middle, and how punishing the
World series hangover is, etc..
If they wanted, could easily have said they liked the cast and
were more than willing to take another shot with the same good
people.

I'm not 100% sold on that.

Cobb to the Cobbs seems a pretty damn likely bet now. He loves
Hickey.

Martinez is reportedly in the lead for the Nationals job and the
Cubs could go after Farrell for the bench coach.
Bosio rumored to be heading to the Tigers.

Would love to see Farrell here as a bench coach. But I'll
believe Davey actually gets a managerial job when it happens.
Have so many postseason managers ever been fired in the same
season?
