Too bad he couldn't throw accurately on the flip from Young.
Chesny made a helluva play there.

Good thing it's spring training. Wade Davis ERA climbs up over
19 for the spring!

Happ, that's pretty cool. Good hitters are valuable property,
pretty awesome if he's going to turn into a really good one.
Very fun.
With Contreras, Baez, Russell, Bryant, and Almora all RH, there
could be a lot of value having another LH guy who can hit,
long-term. Rizzo, Schwarber and Happ could give you three good
LH power hitters. Plus if Heyward bounces back long-term.

Lots of guys are good hitters against non-roster pitchers in
Arizona. Let's see Happ put up one really good (not just pretty
good) minor-league season before we call him elite.

So true, deeg. We'll see how it goes for him. Before this camp
I'd not been a Happ believer and was kind of puzzled why people
kept rating him as highly as they did. (I had him 5th on my
list, and a winter ago I had him 10th). But this camp has
helped me see why he's as well regarded as he is. He's much
bigger and more physical then I had realized, and his swing
looks as good as his camp numbers.
Hopefully he can be productive in the minors.

I think Happ has a pretty high floor, but I'm not sold on the
ceiling. I see holes in the swing and his minor league numbers
have some yellow flags. He'll be a major league player, but I'm
not convinced he'll be starting-caliber.

Think we are all clear on your Happ stance by now
