If I understand the reports, the Ricketts family owns several of
the rooftops separately from the Cubs, but all rooftops,
including those owned by the Ricketts family pay a percentage of
their receipts to the Cubs. I don't remember the exact number,
but 18 % rings a bell.

I suspect Zobriest will revert to the super-sub role instead of
being a regular anywhere. Contreras and Scharber are likely to
rotate between C and LF, with Contreras getting most of the
starts at catch.

Catchers are better hitters when they avoid being physically
worn down, particularly their hands. This is why the Yankees in
the 50's gave both Elston Howard and Yogi Berra quite a bit of
time at positions other than C, with most of it in LF as the two
would be rotated between the two. Maddon is likely to do the
same.

My guess is that Contreras will start 100 games or so behind the
plate, and will be a bench player for the vast majority of the
other games.

Think the Cubs realize how much of a weapon Contreras is behind
the plate, and how good his offense can be. I don't see him or
Schwarber--in LF--sitting much at all. They have a real
complicated situation with Baez and Zobrist. Soler has little
value coming off the bench so I think he gets traded for a lot
less than we would've hoped for a year ago.
