It is very interesting to see who the writers from each NL city
are and who they voted for.
Bruce Miles' ballot was pretty straightforward.
So was that of Katsushi Nagao of the Kyodo News. Tuffy - Do you
have any background on why he represents the Cubs?

BBWAA voters now include national writers from Fangraphs, BA,
national baseball news outlets, foreign outlets, and so on. So,
some of these voters get assigned--for voting purposes-- to one
of the 15 city slots from a NL city. Rosenthal has a piece on
this--they don't necessarily have to have a direct connection to
the Cubs or Chicago to be one of the two Chicago votes. Some
cities only have one daily newspaper. That's a factor. I think
maybe some newspapers don't permit their employees to be
directly involved for conflict of interest reasons, such as not
being official scorers in a game they are covering. Olney has a
piece about conflicts of interest for baseball writers.
So, in no sense is Katsushi Nagao "representing" the Cubs--or
even Chicago. The idea is to make the voting less parochial, if
possible, especially given some of the other constraints noted
       above.

Rizzo finishes fourth--mostly fourth and fifth place votes, but
also received 3 second place and 4 fourth place votes.
Russell got one sixth place vote, and Hendricks got one 9th
       place vote.

Here's his tweet from earlier today, which now seems like an
admission that his ballot was stupid.
       Mike Puma ‏@NYPost_Mets
Prediction: Kris Bryant wins the NL MVP award tonight, but it
won't be a unanimous decision like Bryce Harper was last year.
