...Return game
If everything continues the way it has, there's a good chance
the Packers will have two of their injured players back for the
St. Louis game Sunday.
Right tackle Bryan Bulaga practiced - albeit with a brace on his
left knee - for the second straight day and said he is improving
daily. His performance will be evaluated after Friday's practice
to see if he's ready to return to the starting lineup, but he
said he's optimistic.
"I got out there in practice yesterday and went out and took
more reps today." he said. "I'll get out and take more reps
tomorrow. From the standpoint of getting work done and getting
back and kicking off three weeks of rust, it feels good to get
back out there so we'll see.
"If the coaches and medical staff think I'm ready to go, I
should be OK. We'll see. I don't make the final call."
No one is saying for sure where Bulaga would play if he returns,
but it would be a shock to see him anywhere but his normal right
tackle position. Marshall Newhouse handled left tackle well
after Chad Clifton (hamstring) went down against Atlanta.
In addition to Bulaga, linebacker Frank Zombo appears ready to
return. He practiced all last week, but a decision was made to
wait so he could get back in football shape following six weeks
off with a broken scapula.
"I feel 100% physically, strength-wise, conditioning-wise,"...

Sherrod looked pretty good at RT, with Bulaga out.
Green Bay Packers first-round draft pick Derek Sherrod has
experienced several facets of NFL life in a short period of
time.
Many slotted him as a top-20 selection, but he slipped to the
final pick of the round. Sherrod was touted as the left tackle
of the future, then was beat out for the starting job at left
guard. He was inactive for the first three games, then received
extended playing time when left tackle Chad Clifton sustained a
hamstring injury in the second quarter against the Falcons.
Sherrod gave up a sack that first series, but held up nicely the
rest of the game.
The Press-Gazette caught up with Sherrod this week to discuss
life inside and outside of football.
Now that you’ve had a couple days to reflect, thoughts on your
first extended action in the NFL?
It was pretty exciting. Just going out there and trying to make
every single play my best. Trying to help the team out as much
as possible and just getting a ‘W’ for us.
Pretty special with mom, dad other family in attendance?
I definitely had fun seeing the parents a little bit after the
game and just enjoying them being in the crowd to be there for
that moment.
Now that you’ve seen the tape, how would you evaluate yourself?
I thought I did pretty good. There’s always things you can
improve upon. Little things like fundamentals and technique,
just things you can grind on each and every single day at
practice.
Is it one of those things where you get the first one out of the
way and then you can start rolling?
Definitely. Just going in there and working hard, that’s just
like at practice, every single day it gets a little bit easier.
Just working to make the most out of every single opportunity.
What has it been like getting acclimated to life away from the
football field?
It hasn’t been too bad. I was pretty lucky to have my parents
stay up here a little bit longer from their first visit to help
me get situated. That helped me out a lot. I give a lot of props
to them. That just took a lot off my plate because it’s
sometimes tough being a rookie, coming into a new city, new
surroundings and trying to pick up and go as quick as possible.
That helped out a lot. I’m just getting used to things. It’s a
great city and I love living here.

Surprisingly, Newhouse played well at LT with Clifton
injured. The Tackle position is looking much brighter.
The Packers needed second-year offensive lineman Newhouse to
deliver. Thanks to his football smarts, Newhouse hasn't slowed
the Packers' offense.

I guess now they will have to wait a week since they are testing
this coming week. Watch Matthews miraculously recover starting
about week 8. Nothing to see here folks, move along...
Found this article from last year on a Packer website of all
things.

Wow, gained 80 pounds in 4 years? Nothing to see here,
completely normal in my book.

Ots - How much weight did you gain in college? Not talking
belly weight either... So do you think Matthews is an HGH user
or not?

Grizz
I went into college at about 172lbs and without even trying
gained about 30 lbs. Without any evidence other than that he
gained 80lbs. playing at a major college USC, he had to take
HGH. Seems pretty thin.
No I don't think that he has taken HGH.

He took HGH. He went from being skinny and small to being huge
and ripped in a very short period of time. Players at his
school were busted for it so it was being used by guys he knew.
Would it hold up in a court of law? No. We all know he used
it. Hell have you seen him miked up for a game last year. He
was acting like a madman.

Seriously? Getting hyped up for NFL Football is proof of HGH
use? Well, it now seems all of the 85' bears were on HGH.
