BTW bear fan in your blowout win Atlanta out gained you and out
first downed you and you won 30-12 at home.
Matt Ryan threw for 316 yards. Michael Turner rushed for 100.
See any of that tonight?
The Pack kicks a FG here and it's 25-14 on the road.

The refs gave you this game and you know it.
There were several blown calls that turned the game. I know it
and you know it.

peke
The refs didn't affect this game tonight. The Packers are just a
better team. Atlanta came out with emotion and got up early,
then talent set in.

I know the Packers are a good team but they got very lucky with
the calls at crucial moments tonight. The Pack were lucky to
get a win.
For you to claim the refs did not affect the game is delusional
but then you usually are.

Packers promote Dominguez from practice squad
By Tom Silverstein of the Journal Sentinel
Green Bay - There are two things you can count on with the Green
Bay Packers as long as Ted Thompson is the general manager and
Mike McCarthy the head coach.
They will always build from within.
They will always demand versatility from their offensive
linemen.
The Packers are three days removed from losing their starting
left tackle, Chad Clifton, to a career-threatening hamstring
injury, and 2½ weeks from losing starting right tackle Bryan
Bulaga to a sprained knee, and how many veteran players did they
have in this week for tryouts?
Zero.
Instead of inviting available veterans like Reggie Wells, Max
Jean-Gilles, Shawn Andrews, Rich Seubert and Mark Tauscher in
for a look-see, they went immediately to practice-squad rookie
Ray Dominguez to fill a hole.
With Clifton out and Bulaga's status still up in the air, the
Packers signed Dominguez to the 53-man roster. The 6-foot-4,
334-pound Dominguez was signed as an undrafted rookie out of
Arkansas just before training camp began and made terrific
strides in six weeks.
He wasn't good enough to survive the final cut, but he was
signed to the practice squad soon after and has been playing
both tackle and guard for the scout team. That is, until
Wednesday, when he spent time at guard with the offense.
"I think Ray's done a good job," McCarthy said Wednesday. "I
think he's more natural inside, so that's where we're working
him this week."
Bulaga took part in practice for the first time since injuring
his left knee against Chicago on Sept. 25. He wore a metal brace
around his knee, but in individual drills he looked to be moving
around fine.
He was listed as a limited participant in practice and still
isn't a lock to start against St. Louis at Lambeau Field on
Sunday.
"I think the biggest thing is to watch the tape and see how he
feels tomorrow," McCarthy said. "But he looked like he's moving
fine, but the progression is to take him limited and see how he
is tomorrow."
McCarthy would not reveal where Bulaga would line up if he were
able to play. Bulaga played the tougher left tackle position in
college and in practice parts of last season, so he could fill
in for Clifton and allow Marshall Newhouse to play on the right
side.
But the odds are that Newhouse will be the left tackle after
performing well in place of Clifton against the Falcons. He
started the game at right tackle but was moved over when Clifton
got hurt.
"I think he's playing really well," quarterback Aaron Rodgers
said. "It's exciting to see. In training camp, I thought he made
some strides but maybe didn't expect him to be playing this
well."
Meanwhile Dominguez, who received $8,500 to sign back in August
and was making $5,700 per week while on the practice squad,
played both tackle and guard in training camp after spending
four years at left tackle at Arkansas.
One of two offensive linemen on the practice squad, Dominguez
got the call because of potential. There's a chance he'll be
active Sunday because rookie Derek Sherrod is focusing strictly
on tackle this week in case he has to start for Bulaga.
He's been waiting for this opportunity since camp ended.
"Training camp went pretty well," Dominguez said. "The offense
started clicking in, and I had pretty good preseason games
except for that Kansas City game. But for the most part, I feel
really comfortable in this offense.
"I'm just glad I had a chance to be on the practice squad, and
now you fast forward a couple of weeks and I'm active."
Like Sherrod, Bulaga, Newhouse, T.J. Lang and Josh Sitton before
him, Dominguez is a left tackle who has been told to line up at
guard. Lang and Sitton made the transition well enough to become
starters, while Bulaga and Sherrod got valuable playtime as
rookies because of it.
Sherrod did not make the transition very well - to be fair he
had six weeks to do it with no off-season training at all - and
now he's needed more at tackle where he'll either start for
Bulaga or serve as a backup at both tackle positions.
The advantage of bringing up Dominguez is that Sherrod can
practice at tackle until a final determination is made with
Clifton. Evan Dietrich-Smith and Dominguez will compete each
week for the top backup guard position.
"I think Ray is definitely a deserving guy," Lang said of being
moved up to the 53-man roster. "He's a guy who kind of stuck out
in camp. He has a lot of potential. I'm really proud that he's
getting a chance now.
"As a player, it's awesome how they do that. It gives you a
chance to come along and learn, and when your time does come,
you feel comfortable bumping up."

Injury report: Linebacker Clay Matthews (thigh) did not practice
again and continues to nurse a nagging injury.
"Clay Matthews is feeling better than he did this time last
week," Packers coach Mike McCarthy said. "So he will not
practice today, will not practice tomorrow. We'll see what
happens on the Friday exam whether he'll go on Friday.
"I would say he's further ahead this Wednesday than he was last
Wednesday."
McCarthy said the medical staff is trying a new treatment on the
injury.

$5700 per week to be on the practice squad?
I gotta get one of those jobs...
