Packer roster prediction. Another good draft will likely chase
some more veterans off the roster.

Some nuggets, shaded in green and gold, from the 2011 National
       Football League Information Guide:

       - Green Bay has the fourth-best record in the NFC in kickoff
weekend games 51-36-3 (.583). Dallas is best in the conference
at 34-16-1 (.677). The Packers have won their opening week game
       the last four times.

       - The Packers, who play at Carolina in Week 2, have the most
victories in road openers in league history (52). Green Bay is
52-36-2 (.591) in road openers, third-best in the NFL. The
Packers have won five consecutive road openers, the longest
       active streak in the league.

       - Packers opponents were 130-126 last season (.508). Green Bay
is playing nine games against teams with .500 or better records
and five games against playoff teams.

       - The last time an NFL quarterback passed for 500 yards or more
in a game was Dec. 20, 2009, when Pittsburgh’s Ben
Roethlisberger did it against the Packers.

       - The last time an NFL running back rushed 40 times or more in a
game was Nov. 27, 2006, when Shaun Alexander of Seattle had 40
       rushing attempts against Green Bay.

       - Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is 27-20-0 (.574) as a
starter, ranking him 16th in the league among quarterbacks with
a minimum of 10 starts. Tom Brady of New England is at the top
       with a 111-32-0 record (.776).

       - Green Bay will travel a mere 10,510 miles for their road games
this season, 27th in the league. San Francisco will get the most
       frequent-flier miles with 29,196.

       - The Christmas night game between the Packers and Bears in Week
16 will not be flexed. Flex scheduling will be used for weeks
10-15 and 17. In flex scheduling, some Sunday afternoon games in
those weeks can be moved to Sunday nights on NBC.

       - A total of 13 teams, including the 10-6 Packers, won at least
10 games last season, tying a record set in 2003 and 2005.

       - Rodgers’ jersey was the top-selling one among all NFL players
between April 1 and June 20, 2011 at nflshop.com. The top five:
       1, Rodgers; 2, Troy Palamalu, Pittsburgh; 3, Tony Romo, Dallas;
4, Clay Mathews, Green Bay and 5, Brady, New England.

       - On average, 43.5 million women watched Super Bowl XLV, more
than double the number of women who watched the Academy Awards
show a month later (21.4 million).

       - Alex McCarthy, daughter of Packers coach Mike McCarthy, and
Anna, Emily and Katie Murphy, daughters of Packers president
Mark Murphy, plan to participate in the campaign for NFL Women’s
Apparel, a business launched last year.

       - David Ortiz of the Boston Red Sox remains a Packers fan.

       - Green Bay’s regular-season record of 96-64-0 (.600) in the
last 10 years ranks fifth in the NFL. New England is tops at
       121-39-0 (.756).

       - Green Bay needs seven victories to become the only other NFL
team besides the Chicago Bears to have 700 total victories.

       - Last season the Packers attempted nine times to convert on
fourth-and-one, tied for fourth in the league behind
Jacksonville (16). Green Bay converted thee times for a .333
success percentage. The most efficient fourth-and-one team in
the league was St. Louis (6 for 6).

       - Charles Woodson needs three interception-return touchdowns.
Woodson has 10, Darren Sharper 11 and Rod Woodson 12 for the
       most all-time.

       - Greg Jennings had 21 catches of 20 yards or more, fourth among
all receivers in the league. Mike Wallace of Pittsburgh had the
       most (26).

       - Super Bowl teams that return an interception for a touchdown
are now 11-0, including the Packers, who were helped by a
37-yard interception-return touchdown by Nick Collins.

       - Rodgers is number one among top active passers with at least
1,000 attempts. His quarterback rating is 98.4, ahead of Philip
Rivers (97.2), Tony Romo (95.5), Brady (95.2) and Peyton Manning
       (94.9).

The Packers defense is bad. The Saints is worse.
The Packers offense looked real good except for the O-line.
Good defenses are going to be blowing up Rodgers.

What a specatcular start for the 2011 season.
Rookie Randall Cobb scores two TDs his first game in the NFL.
This is the guy that I predicted would be GB's best shot as NFL
Rookie of the Year. This guy is a natural football player in
       the mold of Charles Woodson,
Speaking of Woodson, he may be slipping a bit this season.
When I first saw the name Vic So ' Oto I thoight he would be an
early cut but this undrafted rookie has played so well and come
on so fast that he not only made rhe roster but may beat out the
other candidates for the OLB pairing up with Matthews.
Thompson did it again. Another jackpot draft.

Look at this thread and the pictures in particular. Then tell
me Matthews is not using HGH. Apparently the League and players
have recently agreed to not test this year. Which means
Matthews probably quit for awhile when it was thought to be
coming but will start up again.
My guess is he starts slow this year then gets better as it
moves along as the HGH works it's magic. He will be done next
year though when the testing kicks in.
