FWIW:
The Bears starters last night looked like they belonged on an
NFL field (unlike last week) so progress was made....
Good to see Alshon playing with attitude. Hope he can keep
injury free and keep that intensity all season....
O'Donnel has to get his kick off faster or he's going to have
kicks blocked this season.....
I still think Kevin White needs MORE playing time (Even with 2nd
stringers). He's still practically a rookie. Would've been fun
seeing him run a few deep patterns against players who won't be
in the NFL in 3 weeks. And if he caught a pass or two or even a
TD against 2nd stringers its another finger in Bill's eye... :D
Bears 2nd string tacklers and containment were not good (at
least it was only the 2nd stringers this week and not
everyone).....
D. Braverman is NOT A PR/KR. He can beat 1 guy covering him with
his quicks but not when 11 other guys gunning for him.
J. Bellamy does not make the team (He'll make the 1st cut)
unless there is an injury- he's too inconsistent.......
Howard seems to be a good RB. Always falling forward...
I can recall 2 very stupid preventable penalties of all the
bunch (an illegal formation that killed a drive and some dumbass
lined over the ball on a punt in the 4th quarter jumps into the
neutral zone). Stupid preventable penalties have to stop or it's
6-10 or worse this season...
Bill must have been pissed that his starters were outscored and
kept the starters game starting Oline, RB for the the 2nd
quarter (Garrapolo too for that matter) and the first drive of
the 2nd half in order to put the game out reach for the
punchless Hoyer/"Fails" offense.....
Hoyer is brutal and sucks ass. CUT.HIM.NOW. If he can't even
allow the Offense to do things in the preseason by his
horrendous QB play, he has to go as he does nothing good for
analysis of other players on the team (it was the 1st string
Oline in I believe he was behind for rest of the half). Every
snap he takes is a wasted snap because you can't evaluate the
rest of the roster he's playing with. At least give Shaw a
chance to see what he can do.... Just as I was typing this Shaw
leads the Bears to a TD with no time left.....
Baby steps forward. But steps forward nonetheless......

Did Fales even get into the game? I didn't see him, only Hoyer
and Shaw besides Cutler.

I loved how Shaw played. He is a rookie and looks like one but
he has skills.
White was in the game for a long time. They are giving him a
lot of playing time.
The arrow for this team is pointed up. They will be
competitive. Injuries will decide if they make the playoffs or
not.
They are not deep on talent but it is being built up. I really
like the work Fox and Pace are doing. Well for the most part I
thought cutting Slauson was stupid. They obviously felt Grasu
was going to make the step up but then he got hurt.

For some reason they kept Hoyer in and didn't give "Fails" a
snap (figured they'd do what they did last week with
Cutler/Hoyer/Fails). Was suprised to see Shaw in at the end.....
Last week was and felt like a loss. Yesterday was a loss but
didn't feel like a loss (if that makes any sense ?). No word on
who got dinged up yet but didn't hear any names as of this
morning (Fuller not making the trip and out for an extended
period of time is disturbing, however) so that was a "win".
Will be interesting to see what this week holds....

I only watched the first half, taped the second. Agree that the
first string O looked good, and that Hoyer looked terrible.
That INT was like it was moving in slow motion. And is it just
me or has anyone seen Hicks make any plays on D? I keep looking
for him, and then he is out of the game. Maybe they are resting
him up, who knows.
And on the radio this morning they said Fuller is out
indefinitely because he had surgery on his knee. WTF??????

Didn't catch the game but I am recording the 3pm showing today.
I read that Larsen had a hold in the red zone and someone else
recorded a illegal procedure penalty shortly after.
As for Bellamy, not making the team. Who else we got at backup
WR? The oft-injured Royal, Mariani is solid and Marques Wilson
has a broken foot. Not much experience after those guys.
And looking at the stats Freeman was all over the place but did
Trevathan play or is he hurt?

Trevathan was held out with a hammy and Fuller had scope
surgery to his knee and they expect him back week one

Hoyer should not be on this team when it comes to cuts.
Probably a hellova nice guy ... but he's not BEARS.
He cost's us. His style isn't ours.
You can't let somebody have the ball that long and come up with
zero points.

On the Todd Collins scale (he set the lowest standard for a
Bears backup QB), he's better than Collins only by a marginal
amount... :D
