It looked, too, like Cut was holding the ball too long on a
couple of the sacks. That is most likely due to him and the
recievers not being on the same page yet, because one of the
sacks there was a couple guys clearly open but he stood with the
ball and that was after throwing the int so it was probably in
his head. And they're going to have to give Massie some help,
chip with the TE, because he just ain't cutting it. One of the
sacks the TE next to him shot up the middle and Massie just
could not get his feet moving fast enough to get the rusher. It
was a tough call getting one of the best front 7 in football on
the very first game of the season with a inexperienced together
line. But for a few key plays the Bears were in it and that's a
good thing. Let's see what they can do next week....hope for
some improvement....

It looked to me that Houston was in an even alignment with two
DTs on either side of the center but no one playing NT, that is,
directly over the center.
Regardless, my point is do you actually believe that when we ran
the QB sneak that that was the first time Whitehair was asked to
block Wilfork?
I've seen fumbled snaps by countless more experienced centers.
It happens.

This one you are correct. Lining up the TE next to Massie
forced the DE way wide and Massie was slow to get to the contact
point.
We have a few games on turf. Detroit and Minnesota for sure.
Cowboys (but their d-line is bad), Giants and Colts.
What gets me is that our home field is negated by scheduling
both the Vikes and Lions at their house in December/January.
The league does'nt want the dome teams to get cold.

Let's put last Sunday's game in perspective and move forward.
We had the lead going into the 4th quarter, on the road, against
the AFC South conference champions. With a offensive line
pieced together in the week after preseason going against
arguably the top defense we will see all year.
A challenge call on the failed Osweiler QB sneak may have
encouraged them to kick the field goal. A couple of plays here
and there was the difference.
Looking forward to a win Monday against the Eagles.
I want to see them get White even more involved in the offense.
His development is critical to the offense going to another
level, so there will be some growing pains. Glad to see over
reaction Monday in the rearview!

Yeah, I don't know who is advising Fox on challenges. Osweiler
did not go forward. Even the announcers were talking about how
he was too high. Then the refs say "First down". Really?
And then there was the Will Fuller catch that Fox challenged.
Now if the guy upstairs doesn't have instant replay maybe you
do challenge it but there was nothing I saw that would make me
want to waste a timeout on a challenge after seeing the first
replay.
So now in addition to firing the conditioning coach we also need
to can the guy that makes the decisions to challenge the ref's
calls.

Looked like the Texans were going to Hurry-up offense after that
catch and I guessed that Fox threw the challenge to get the
defense squared up - or he figured they were hiding something if
they were rushing back to the LOS like that

Its sad really for the NFL in general as far getting replays
properly called. What would it take to have a knowledgeable
person in the box above watching and calling down potential
challenge plays ? Hell, I've got a better record from home
seeing what should be challenged and what should not be...
Give it to me- free travel, ticket to game with the team,
watching the Bears for free !

I thought I heard a report on the radio say that Fox admitted he
should have challenged the Osweiller sneak but didn't. He
admitted his mistake on that. Then the one he did challenge he
said they were going to call and use a time out anyway at that
time. It just gave them a longer time out by throwing the flag.

Sounds like Fox just needs someone at home to call him up after
controversial plays - I don't know what his guys upstairs are
watching:
"At the time if I had the ability to see what people get to see
at home, with yellow lines and blue lines and all the things … I
think … we might have won it," Fox said. "Hindsight, I wish I
would have challenged it."
