Front 7 was absolutely man-handled in the first half. I was
celebrating whenever we could get their offense in a 3rd down
situation. Run defense tightened up in the 2nd half.
Tracy Porter had an excellent pick, but they need to move him to
the side of the opposing team's slower receiver. But then again
when has Chicago ever had a speedy CB. 1990-never. I'll have
to admit Jacoby Glenn and the long-armed Hall (are they going to
mention that every week) did an OK job. I'd like to see Adrian
Amos make a play on a ball one of these days.
You may not know this but Kevin White is just about as fast as
Will Fuller. Now maybe White is hamstrung, but I don't want to
hear that White doesn't know the offense. Fuller is a rookie
(not a redshirt rookie) and took over the game. We need to get
White and Miller involved in the offense more. But Royal
answered all questions about why the Bears gave him a roster
       spot.
It will take a while for our O-line to gel but there is not
excuse for our tackles to get beat one on one. Bobby Massie was
scary bad and Leno had a whiff too.
Did Willie Young get hurt? Houston was somewhat quiet also.
       Glad we drafted Floyd.

Would have liked to see more blitzing from Fangio. It worked
the times he called it for the most part.

Some coaching screwups this game. Should never have run a QB
sneak with a rookie center when you've got road graters and a
good back to get it done. They screw up the handoff, balls on
the ground, Cut can't pick it up AND get the first down. Should
have run it behind either Sitton or Long. The int, I'm not sure
White would have been there even if he kept running. There was a
defender there. Hard to run timing patterns like that with a guy
you have very very little experience with. First half,
promise....second half, all too often Bears football lately.
       Lots of work to do....

Not going to win many games if the Defense consistently gives up
3rd down conversions and the Offense does not produce on 3rd
       downs.

       Hindsight is 20/20.
Our run game wasn't exactly doing much behind the vaunted
pro-bowlers Sitton and Long. Now maybe Whitehair got a bit
anxious with that call going against the giant Wilfork but there
was nothing wrong with the call.

If White can't run the entire playbook he shouldn't be out
there. When you run an out your throw the ball on the break not
after the break - no way Cutler knows White is going to stop.

Totally disagree. You are asking a rook who has not played
center to do a QB sneak with Wilfork on the other side,
something even a years experienced pro would have a challenge
doing trying to get that ball to the QB and get your hands on
Wilfork, who is a incredible load. Not smart play calling
       there...

He messed up the snap - the block was fine. It's not like this
was Whitehair's first block on Wilfork.
If Langford or Carey gets nailed short of a first down you'd
complain they should have just sneaked it with Cutler.

It was not the smartest decision. He messed up the snap because
he had Wilfork to block. Did the play work? No it didn't. Could
he have made it work? Of course. But the chances of a rook
messing up such a important play for a first down is much higher
than a non rook with experience doing it.
