I don't have the patience to comment on everything that was
wrong with the Bears against the Chiefs Saturday.
Offensively, we miss Long big time. We might be able to hide
Larsen, but not Larsen AND Edison.
Our receivers rarely get separation. Watch the KC offense.
Snap, one, two, the pass is out there to an open receiver.
Bears O-line, QBs and receivers took turns f***ing up. Other
than Shaw and Merideth not much good happened. And why are we
throwing 3 yard passes to Kevin White every game? He is open
down the field - now whether he can catch the ball - I dunno.
Defensively, our 4 linebackers are very solid. Akiem Hicks is
big. Goldman is invisible. Bullard will play a lot more.
Washington makes a great play and then limps off. Is this guy
made of paper?
Our DBs are in for a long season. Yes, Deiondre Hall has 34"
arms...woo hoo. I guess he's now the best we got at CB.

I am hoping that they are working on what they are bad at. Also
hoping that the coaches are able to use this terrible display to
kick them in their ass and make them a whole lot better.
Also why are the Bears so terrible at home under Fox?

Hall has to learn to get his head around. He is going to get
flagged for a lot of PI if he doesn't. They haven't been
calling it in pre-season for some reason.

To be honest, it looked like the hold wasn't great (good but
could've been better). Even the announcers said the rain really
started to fall right after the TD....

FWIW here's what I saw from the game....
Last night Kevin White was a violent WR. That may be his "thing"
as it appeared when he got the ball in his hands he was very
aggressive in getting upfield. It was good to see and hopes he
can keep it up.....
The D made some good plays and applied some pressure. But sacks
will have to be manufactured by schemes (at least that's
something Fangio knows something about) instead of outright
talent beating talent. Needless to say, 85-86 Bears it won't be
(but then again, like the Highlander, THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE
:D).......
Floyd played most of the game (in and out). I saw him in the 4th
Q bringing some pressure. I think he just needs reps....
David "Fails" lives up to his name. If the Bears have to throw a
football, Hoyer should be the backup and that's really, Really,
REALLY scary......
Howard is a beast. Needs more time with the starters, but he
seems like a legit NFL running back. A "heavy runner" if there
ever was one.... (note: this was written after the 1st few runs
he had in the 4th quarter- he beasted the rest of the way
including gettig dumped on his head once)....
Megapunt is still a very, very slow punter and it will cost the
Bears at some point this season. While at it, special teams are
still not too good. That will probably cost the Bears this year
at some point....
Braverman has shown nothing in preseason games. Bears may try to
squeeze him onto the PS (which he may make because of his
underwhelming play) but he has some notoriety so someone may
take a flyer on him......
Cameron Meredith made some plays as WR....
TE position behind Miller is not paper thin- its non-existent.
Strange feeling that Khari Lee will be Pace's "Angelo forgot to
check the box" or Angelo's "draft a punter" moment.....
I think what we saw tonite (last PS game notwithstanding) is
what we will see from this team this season. Inconsistent play,
some good, some bad, never all 3 phases working together (if the
O performs, the D fails. If both perform, special team fails,
etc.).
I guess this is the price of fielding a young, building team you
have to pay. Realistically as fans, all we can hope for is to be
better at season's end than at the beginning.....

I thought the defense was much better tonight and I like what
Jordan Howard did. Also I thought the young DBs did well. Hall
did well against a top flite receiver in Gordon.

I'll have to catch the recorded version later. Is was finally
able to watch some of the first half of the Chiefs game and had
to be reminded that the Chiefs are a good team and we played
them pretty well. Our O had a lot of mistakes you have with 5
brand new linemen. Getting Kyle back should help a lot but it is
going to take time before these guys play as a unit. They just
need to not make stupid mistakes. I can understand not getting
the right assignment. It I don't understand the tackle not even
lining up on the los.

Watched the first half and taped the second. White and Meredith
looked good at WR, and Hoyer looked like a legit backup QB. I
thought the D line did pretty good with the second string guys
who started. And yes Hall drives me crazy by not looking back.
If he can get that fixed he might rack up quite a few ints.

The Cubs game last night was good. ;D I guess I will watch
this 4th PS game on Saturday if I can't find a good college game
on to watch.
