Yep, I'd been to a game in Tampa when it was the old Central
Division. There were more Bears fans than Tampa fans...

It can stil be pretty brutal late October, but I'd take my
chances then over the guarantee fry fest in early September.

One can bake quite thoroughly in Florida through the end of
October. There is no shade in Raymond James. I remember some
early season games in the old "Sombrero" where I cooked out
there. Of course, frequent Beer supplementation allowed me to
slog through it. It was a blast back then...a bunch of us Bear
fans would chant..."throw it Vinny, throw it" because of
Testaverdes interceptions were so bad. I saw signs saying "Cut
off their Testaverdes" A good time was had by all and the Bears
       usually won those games.

A guy I worked with had season tickets. He always gave me his
seat when the Bears came to town. Always a good time and never
any issues with the Tampa fans. They were cool. Of course that
       was a long time ago.

If Josh Freeman stays healthy that Bucs team is gonna be tough
this year and just keep getting better. Freeman is the type of
good, young, coachable QB that plenty of GMs would kill to have
on their teams right now. They took a huge risk on Legarrete
Blount and so far that's worked out so they're set at RB. The
Bucs IMO are one playmaker on each side of the ball away from
making serious noise for a long time.
I would not be shocked if both NFC wildcard teams came out of
the NFC South this year. Although, the Saints were definitely
exposed in that playoff loss to Seattle.

       Hey Yap fuuck Freeman...
if Stafford goes 16 games we have our work cut out for us in
our own backyard along with G.B.
Minnie is a QB away also.

Now if the AGENT can just convince Minnie to sign McNabb... ;D
       ;)
That would be a piising spree for Peppers!

The late years of the Sombrero were always well attended by both
the Bears and Packers fans. I bought season 4 tickets to the
Bucs when we moved there in 1996. They had a 4 pack deal that
you could purchase the whole season at about the 5 yard line
for, get this... $600. I kid you not, 4 full season tickets for
$150 each. It was two years before the Bucs would move to RJ so
I jumped on that as a way to see the Bears every year, as well
as a lot of the other teams that I had never seen.
Two years later, our new seats were abouve the visitor tunnel
down by the ship and I think the price went to $33/ticket. I
was splitting the cost with 3 other guys so no sweat, but
literally it was like 2 years and the league realigned the Bucs
out of the Central >:( We held onto the seats long enough to
cover our seat deposit for 10 years, and then cut bait. The
price went to $99/seat the year we dumped them - it was like a
$25/seat increase. Thos last years, I would just go to one game
with the family and sell my others at face.

Look at the bright side G34,at least you aint a Dodgers fan
       holding tickets.
Those slime that own the Dodgers ran the team into the ground.

I definitely see the bright side, those were the years my sons
were growing up - me too! It was a blast while it lasted, and
       now on to other things.
Starting the year of the big ticket hike in prices, the Bucs are
back to playing their games in front of empty seats and the
locals are blacked out. I always thought the owners killed the
golden goose be raising prices to the point that someone
couldn't go to one game a year. Drop the prices, and fill the
stadium. I would think the concessions and parking would see a
       big bump.

Grizz, maybe I'm wrong but hasn't the economy of the state in
Florida pretty much tanked big-time under the fine leadership of
       our current President?
If the locals are struggling to pay their bills it's going to be
pretty hard for pro sports franchises to squeeze a lot of
shekels out of them, I'm thinking. Especially in Florida where
there are so many other ways you can spend sunny Sunday
       afternoons for free.
Having fans of opposing teams come to Tampa may be that
franchise's only shot at having a reasonably filled stadium from
       one Sunday to the next.
